Camper van field distance

not very accessible with that hill, not sure anyone could push me up it in my chair.

The motorised scooters managed it though.

Our neighbours in 2019 had hired an old green painted caravan that was already on-site when we arrived. They never stayed in it, just parked there daily, got into a 2 seater side by side mobility scooter and went down the hill. Guessing they lived fairly locally or had booked a hotel and the caravan gave them a spot closeby to park daily with no hassle.

You have mixed your fields up! E21 is on the actual hill, this is for staff, accessible (disabled) overflow and friends of the Eavis family. E20 is for anyone with a quiet pass and fills really quickly. I have been pitching in E21 since 2011 due to having access requirements.

Doh! I even provided a handy map to prove myself wrong...!

good knowledge though... i have always (10 festivals in CV East) wondered how you got in E20.. (correction Mrs BlueDaze has reminded me that we did get on the last row of E20 (over the hedge from E23) on one occasion..)

Marvellous to have E21 as your home for the festival, i cant think there is a better spot on site.

Have a great festival!

Has anyone in the campervan fields pitched up a tent inside the festival to use as a base for warm clothes/booze etc?

Thinking of taking a small 2 man tent and going in Weds to pitch it up

Like a personal, non-secure lock up which uses camping space? Why would you need to?

Not done this myself - I only wish I had a campervan... 😉 But definitely heard of it happening.

Like @blutarsky says though, far better to use the lockups and leave the camping space for those sleeping onsite.

Yeah please don’t do this - you can easily use the lock ups and it frees up space for those of us who are actually camping.

If I am lucky enough to secure resale tickets and also a campervan ticket then I will 100% be using the lock up by the gate to enter the festival rather than putting a tent in a camping field

A camp in a tent and field is open to being robbed if there are unscrupulous people nearby who noticed that it is generally unattended

The lock ups have 100% security and are accessible 100% of the time

Someone did exactly that next to us the very first Glastonbury I went to in 2004. (We were camped in Top Webbs Ash)

Was a crowd of about 6 people who turned up at 11am each morning, loaded with booze, jumpers/wellies etc and would turn up at various points in the day to collect more stuff or snort more coke in the tent.

They left one crate of beer in there each night to make sure the tent didn't fly away and then abandoned the tent on the last night.
