Bit of info for you all (not sure if this info is already out there) but BBC introducing is moving to the field I have circled in red which has previously been extra crew camping for Silver Hayes. Presume it will slot in to the middle of the field perhaps with the traders re positioned to along the tree lines?

wondered how long that would stay quiet. I did wonder what the stage was in that space, it's not labelled on my map. I have a map but I can't share it, I'm already in enough trouble with glasto. I imagine it'll all be out fairly soon.

Driving from London what is the best way to approach the fest to ensure I can park near PGA or PGD as we want to camp in Paines? In 2019 I thought I had planned it out, but then eventually came to a steward who would only allow us to be directed in one direction to the other side of the site so I was parked by PGC and had to walk across the whole site with all our stuff! Do not want to repeat that! Thanks!

The trick is to approach Shepton Mallet from the north, and then cut through the town (if you want gate A). Kinda like this...

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/London+SE1/Pilton,+Shepton+Mallet/@51.2041604,-2.5136112,13.38z/data=!4m34!4m33!1m25!1m1!1s0x4876030d54f96c6d:0xcdb3274daab69673!2m2!1d-0.090951!2d51.5018327!3m4!1m2!1d-2.3593505!2d51.2288808!3s0x48722c0d79f9c9af:0x5faf28604fd7a6af!3m4!1m2!1d-2.3957054!2d51.223627!3s0x48722eb951250e53:0x855cd32acd04abec!3m4!1m2!1d-2.4732749!2d51.209117!3s0x4872258855ac1bb5:0x31effb15eee928b1!3m4!1m2!1d-2.5280943!2d51.2154354!3s0x4872244abaddb533:0xbf73882b4d67fac6!1m5!1m1!1s0x4872234879b7a5db:0xd05fc2ae5151fc35!2m2!1d-2.589688!2d51.1657253!3e0

There's been no confirmation if they have used up the additional capacity. It was available to them in 2019 but not used.

On the stewarding website it says there has been an increase in the numbers for public camping this year. So it looks as though they are using it this year.

Great stuff, any map is better than no map. 🙂

In the East car parks / CV fields I'm not sure which is which. Pretty sure the light blue are all CV and purple all parking, but what about 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 - are they CV or parking?

I'm just trying to work out where I parked in 2016 to make a comparison of the walking distance to campsites from East v West parking 🙂

There are actually 3 different shades of Blue...

As i understand :

8-13 are parking (13 may be crew parking??)

14-18 are CV General

19-25 are CV Quiet

Also possible by taking the A303 to where it meets the A37 and cut across to Glastonbury town through the country roads and then use the A361 up to the site. Which is what we did in 2019 and met a staggeringly small amount of traffic, was a huge suprise

First Official Map of 2022!

Off Site Traffic Map

Only real difference from the 2019 map is Orange Campervan has been replaced with Sticklinch camping and parking for Sticklinch camping has been added.

Great spot and thanks!

Wonder what PG-OC stands for.  PG-PH is pennard hill pedestrial gate, obviously.  Maybe simply "other camping" or "offsite camping"

Could you please give us 3 words to describe the reshaping of the Silver Hayes area?

I completely forgot to check it out last time. Will make sure I get over there on one of the non music days.

Me too.. completely failed to step on. My wife and kid managed it though. Must try harder.

Anyone know what the increased capacity is?  I'm guessing it was in the planning documents?

Sometimes I find the 'one off' changes don't really work...bit like that 'spirit of 1971' stage.

What? I liked it. Apart from the intense noise bleed- from the Glade?

No it was in an explanation to why more staff are being moved to off-site camping. No numbers given but the size of the new off-site field is significant

Sorry I'm just going to keep quiet, I'm trying to be on good terms with the fest and leaking info is not conducive to such relationships!

Ha no worries, I was just hoping for something like "great! fun! exciting!" as it'll keep the masses here going for weeks.

To get an idea of the increase the new camping will be have the staff that were previously in Dragon, Huntlands? And Dairy.

Dont forget that there has also been an increase in steward numbers so not all of it will be extra public

I've been to almost ten Glasto's and still not been up the ribbon tower. Helter skelter however...

I did it for the first time in 2019. It was evening and there was barely a queue. Frankly I'd never trusted myself to walk the stairs.. but for some reason I felt a moment of clarity. It was excellent.
