Glast0baby
Has anyone used this on the Monday? Is it easy to catch, long queues? Can you remember ££? I'm trying to decide whether to use the shuttle or book National Express. Any advice appreciated 😁
FrankieX
This year's service is already listed on the Glastonbury website: https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/by-bus/ The cost will be £22, and when I've been there queueing hasn't really been an issue (although I wake up early so I am typically packed and ready to go by 7am on a Monday. I like the speed and convenience of the Temple Meads bus (as I'm travelling the rest of my journey home by train), and I am honestly a little disappointed there's not a service from there on the Wednesday. (There is the 376 bus route leaving from Temple Meads to Glastonbury town, but I don't think a regular bus would work well for taking all my camping gear/cider)
phil the shrew
As FrankieX says the Shuttle bus direct to Temple Meads is probably you best bet. The regular 376 scheduled bus service is pretty decent hourly service that gets to Bristol pretty directly, and you could could catch the Glastonbury Town Shuttle bus, then switch to the 376 during Monday, but it does involve changing buses so is a bit of hassle. One other option might be to register interest in a lift share. I'm sure there will be people heading back home through Bristol on Monday morning who might have space in their car or van for one extra. There is a tent - I think in Williams Green - where you register an interest and the volunteers then match you up with people who have a space. I've never used the service but might be worth looking into
deepkittycaz
I've done it twice, in 2017 and 2019. As the shuttle service uses a normal bus, bear in mind you might be expected to have to keep your luggage on you on the journey. In 2017, we were guided to loaded up the downstairs back seat with everything, but in 2019 we had to keep everything on us, which made for a very uncomfortable ride back! I think managed to get my tent on the floor under my feet, but had to keep my heavy rucksack on my lap 😞
cerv
Used it last festival for first time and had a bit of a hitch: bus was late for 8 am departure so a queue built up. Wasn't clear what was going on but another coach turned up for Wells which we were told we could use to then connect via regular bus to Temple Meads which we did. I suspect the actual Bristol bus was turning up as we left so perhaps if we stuck around it would have been fine in the end? One of those festival 'stick or twist' moments. All in all not much time lost, I'd happily try it again. If plan is to catch a train from Temple Meads then I'd say the Glasto bus is best over National Express given NE won't drop you at the train station. Jay Pee
Hi all. Another bus faff question. In the past I have got the shuttle to Castle Cary and then train to bristol for transfer to North bound train but it's always a faff at Castle Carry. The 22 quid bus from the festival direct to temple meads looks better option. Do you know if it is pay in advance through bus company or pay the driver on the day? Thanks 👍

Jay Pee
Thanks again. I'm sure it will be the same this year.
