I bet my mate £100 that I could get on Telly. Never mentioned anything & then turned up in this for Katy Perry... I got on telly & took my ton.

Never done Fancy Dress before or since.

I'll allow that as part of my 1%. It's the beards and inflatable guitars for ZZ Top, fake tits for Dolly, top hats for Slash, curly wis for Gibb.

While I'm at it, the "flash mob" dance for the Legend Slot needs to be binned off too.

I have been berated on these very pages for once suggesting I’d stick with Mrs Moth (on her first Glasto, in a strange country, not knowing anyone else there, with no sense of direction and worried  about crowds) rather than ditch her for my preferred headliner.

Mrs J and I have never split to watch separate things. What’s the point in going with your other half then ditching them?

My one hope is that a dance is worked out for a particular song and then Diana Ross doesn't play it.

Because you want to do different things?

Just like there is no issue with couples wanting to stick together surely there is no issue with couples wanting to spend time apart.

often a clash will happen where we go off to see something different then meet back up.

We rarely have a situation where the things we want to see clash, and on those rare occasions there’s usually a compromise to be had.

We're the same.

I still "owe her" for seeing Liam over Sigrid.

That's fine I'm not saying you shouldn't but I don't think it's odd if some couples think that rather than compromise they'll just spend an hour or two doing the things they'd both prefer to do.

It'd be weird to go with your partner and spend no time together but you'd don't need to be joined at the hip.

As someone 15 years or so sober I have to agree. But I also have to add really shit faced people too. Good God they can be tedious at times. And I'm not some sanctimonious ex drinker who thinks everyone should do as I do. Crack on. Do what you want. Get as fucked up as you want (I certainly used to). But fuck me they can be dull at times.

God, yeah, a million times this! For the last couple of years i've stopped drinking to excess, i'm quite happy just having a couple of nice pints and have no interest in getting drunk. But i'm still socialising with drunk people, cos, yknow, mates etc . . . and now i get the joy of the same conversation 2-3 times a night cos drunk brains dont remember what theyve said!

Agreed. But wanting to spend time with your partner shouldn’t make you a target for a strangers anger though, which is what happened to me.

Certainly I didn't have any issue with that I was taking umbrage with Hugh's take that "ditching" your partner was something to be frowned upon.

And if you're really lucky, you can have the conversation all over again next week.

One of my few joys at work (youth hostel) is not reacting to people (usually Stag parties) in fancy dress. They're practically twitching with anticipation for a reaction and I just go totally deadpan and check them in like normal.
