I should have said I understand it but I don't understand it.

As a none Harry Potter fan but quite like a bit of the old Steam Loco shite, it would please me no end to have the original number in the pub shed.

Do people who buy the rare vinyl play it or preserve it for future value?  I suppose its a mix of the two.   A pal has loft full of trainers that have not been out of their box for eventual sale

Fragma, just because, been years since I've heard the album. Prodigy because its got some amazing remixes on it (Shut Em Up being a fave) Primal Scream becase Weatherall was a god amongst remixers. And Jesus Jones because I love Jesus Jones 🙂

I used to hang out a lot with the bass player from Jesus Jones at school. I have more useless facts if anyone is interested

Good on you mate.  Glad to see that.  And I know, its none of my business etc on collecting aspects.  I have always been all in on CDs and kind of still am but do see the appeal of a lovely gatefold with toxic orange vinyl.

I have some stuff that's worth a fair bit and I play everything I own.

Prices can fluctuate so quickly that even things you own can fly up in price without you realising. For example I have the first Dry Cleaning EP's which I bought in Pie & Vinyl a few days after it came out for £15. Went to play it about 6 months ago, thought I'd check to see what it's worth and saw people are paying over £250 for it. Looks like it's now £350+

Only difference now is that I make sure I handle it ultra carefully!

I have the first pressing of 'Whats the Story..' (checked the run out text on discogs) , chatting a friend who also loves vinyl, he suggested I look up whats it's worth, fucking loads 😄 However, when I lived at my parents, one of their cats used to love jumping on my desk, and if I hadn't shut the lid on my record player, it would walk on the record, freak out when it started moving and leap off, leaving deep scratches.

So my vinyl copy is 'less than mint' to say the least on side a of disc 2 😄

My brother bought the first vinyl U2 ever released. It was only available in Ireland and worth a lot as in hundreds. Unfortunately when my little sister was a baby (late 80's0 she used all our vinyl to play hop scotch and so it was also less than mint condition (probably unplayable)
