Not many names there, is that normal? Cimafunk are great tho.

Although when he talks between songs I realise just how far I have to go in my understanding of the Spanish language. I can't understand a word he says!!

They're Cuban?
He's just saying the usual: "we're glad to be here, this is our next song...." stuff

If you're learning Spanish from Spain you're gonna have a very difficult time understanding anything from Latin America. It's the same as most languages which are spoken in many places around the world. I learned "proper" English when I was little but then most of what I heard in real life was American English. I still struggle a bit with English from Northern England/Scotland, specially young people obviously.

I was in Andalucia last year and sometimes it sounded like a completely different language to me. And they are in Spain 😂

I'm learning on Duolingo which seems to teach both Spanish Spanish and Latin America Spanish simultaneously. A lot of my team are in Barcelona so I ask a lot of questions when I come across more than 1 word for the same thing etc and they say the difference is sometimes Latin American vs Spanish ie Esposo vs Marido. I don't think I'll be having conversations anytime soon but would like to at least have some pigeon Spanish by the next time I have to go there.

so who's tried it ? ive often been tempted but dont want to cause injury to others

Tried the lessons in 2016, made a total arse of myself attempting to dance wearing muddy wellies. Thought I was doing well until I turned round to see mrs c moving away from me with a mixture of embarrassment and laughter. At least the watching crowd was entertained

Didn't do any classes, but did pop around in 2019. Listened to a few tunes after some food, great vibes in there, even if it's not your thing.

Do think, it's a must for anyone to pop in just see what it's all about. Probably a good place to go on Thursdays if you want to avoid the more crowded places.

If you can let me know when you are headed that way we can have a dance off 🙂

Sunday – we are privileged to host Telmary, the Queen of Cuban Hip Hop, with her band HabanaSana. – rap, funk, jazz and soul on top of traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms.

Telmary sounds like my kinda thing, need to add to the Spotify queue asap

I went there in 2019 with my daughter and we had a laugh (I am not at all co-ordinated and my hips don't move like the people in the video).  The new location is a much better fit than it - it was a bit weird being up by the Common before.

I'd recommend it.
