plaskins
I'm looking out for a new rucksack as the one I usually use is on the small side. As I am going by coach this year and will not be able to take a trolley I am looking to get a bit more on my back due to restrictions on stuff you can take on the coach. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any bargains/ sales on anywhere TIA 🙂

bexj
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/women-s-rucksack-70l-grey/_/R-p-168025?mc=8383139&c=GREY I bought this one a few years ago and love it. Its very adjustable, it seems to never get full and it seems well made with all sorts of thoughtful bits, extra pockets etc. There's a mens version too.
Brad2434
https://www.millets.co.uk/15989031/eurohike-colossus-ii-6515l-rucksack-15989031 I posted this in another thread but it’s a banging deal. Had a further 20% off when I bought it but £35 is still a steal! 1
Losing my hair
https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/16002681/vango-sherpa-70-80-rucksack-16002681 I've got one of these which has done several festivals including Glastonbury by coach. I would recommend that you go to the store and try it out as it needs to be comfortable as you trudge from Gate A to wherever you're camping - Go Outdoors were very helpful.

Doesnt look like it has many pockets though? Also need something I can attach a roll too. Does it have any way to attach things like that? Quark
For me it's an army surplus bergen with side pouches. Did Beautiful Days last year with one bag and no hand carrying (although tent was strapped to the outside rather than inside) and that included all my booze. You can fit the world in one of those things.
squirrelarmy
I’ve picked up this one recently. Mentioned it on a few other threads so good to have a dedicated bag thread. https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15979411/eurohike-nepal-85-rucksack-15979411 85L so definitely on the large side. Adjustable aluminium chassis to help get the weight in the right position. Waist and chest straps as well to keep it secured. Separate bottom compartment which is perfectly sized for a sleeping bag/pillow. Straps so you can attach a tent to the bottom. Inside the main compartment I’ve managed to fit a double airbed, 2 10 packs of cider and still room for clothes. There’s also a large pocket in the top and two further large side pockets. I’ve also been able to strap a smaller day bag to the front of it. Edited May 11, 2022 by squirrelarmy
gooner1990
I just remembered my bag (that I first got in 1995) has started to split at the seems now and whilst I might be able to get it repaired, I might sound out a replacement just in case. Any recommendations?

Any recommendations? Still swear by one of these bad boys. Coach last year, got everything including tent and camp bed in there and a chair strapped to the outside. Travelled completely hands free. EDIT: should also add that I've used it for all-day hikes as well and it's been perfectly comfy, no back or shoulder aches or blisters. Plus when you remove the two side pouches, one makes a great option for the lockups and the second makes a decent day bag if you get the spare yoke with it Edited May 23, 2023 by Quark

Added in my edit that I've had one on all day and it's never given me issues. My brother's also got one and has back probs, and it's never caused him any trouble. But definitely find one right for you! If you can get a surplus store near you I'm sure they'll be happy to let you try it for size.

Think my bag is around 75l so sadly no chance of that … although mates on the same bus have offered to carry it . Will see when we get there 😀

ameski18
I'm weighing up the idea of bringing a backpack round with me all day, this year. Something I've always tried to avoid previously. I normally just chuck a couple of beers and my purse/ticket in a little bag! We're up in the campervan fields this year and I don't fancy that walk just to get a topup of beer / my jacket! Any ideas on carrying beers greatly received.

Leave your extra beers/jacket in a conveniently located lockup to pick up when you need them. As a bonus, put them in something like this so you don't have to lug an empty bag around once you've drunk the beers.
