I've brought them up in a previous thread a while back but would be cool to see Outkast headline WH

There would be no other acts on the Wh lineup if they booked Outkast cause the budget would be all used up. Glasto had their chance in 2014/2015 but apparently didnt want the big reunion act which hit up every festival on the planet.

Lucky escape, then, given the phoned in, couldn't be arsed nature of the shows.

Hmmn. Kind of but they are not exactly a contemporary dance act, but for me - they are more synth pop rather than a full on electronic dance act like them Chems or one of the "Superstar DJ's".

I disagree that its DP or bust. There are lots of dance acts and DJ's that headline large festivals around the world and sell out large arenas and stadiums on a regular basis. The likes of Swedish House Mafia, DeadMau5, Above and Beyond plus DJ's like Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, David Guetta all (IMO) have the status and the show to headline - the real issue is that Glasto are unlikely to pay the headline fees that these guys would command and they don't seem to want to go in that direction.

SHM cant sell out their current tour btw. I would just put them in the expensive category and nothing else. Deadmau5 really got put on the wrong stage when he did Other headlining. But his production warranted it so you had to do that. I think the other issue is that there arent enough spots for all those acts anyway. You only have a handful of night time slots on the main stages. That makes the biggest difference I think because most dj's and electronic acts arent going to be too privvy to perform in the daytime if they can help it, unless theyre in a tent. If the sun went down at 7pm then it opens things up in that realm and they can look at other stuff.

Definitely got the catalogue for a banger, but don't Andre and Big Boi hate each other now?  Thought the reunion tour a few years ago ended up being a complete shitfest as they wouldn't even talk to each other.

Any vintage groups next year like Kool & the Gang, Isley Brothers, or Earth, Wind, & Fire, would be great.

One of those next to RTJ and SBTRKT.

Absolutely fandabidozi.

Nile Rodgers and Chic. They've already done two incredible sets at Glastonbury. With the possible exception of Nick Cave, Nile is the coolest dude I've seen live.

I mean, there’s that, plus the fact they’re not big enough to headline The Pyramid!

I think they've always been the option to go on Pyramid so clearly the Evie still think they're good for it.  I agree with others that they just suit the OS better.. a electrical type headliner there (thinking PSB this year) always seems a good alt to whatever is on the pyramid.

Chic were great. The perfect party music. Thought it worked much better on WH than Pyramid tbh.

So did I, but there were at least three notable differences, at least from my point of view.

1. West Holts was in the dark, Pyramid in the light.

2. The sound is better at West Holts.

3. Was on MDMA at West Holts, not so at Pyramid.

It's a yes in agreement to all three from me 😆

The WH gig was a cracker. From memory there was a newness about seeing them at the time (obviously the tunes weren’t new) they seemed to play everywhere and anywhere after that night so by the time they got to the pyramid, everyone and their dug had seen them.

The month after seeing them on WH I saw them sub Wickerman. How the bookers got that deal done remains a mystery.

I love Chic but it's essentially the exact same show each time give or take a couple of songs, feels a bit soon to bring them back.

Yep I agree having seen them 3 times even the patter between songs tends to be the same. I think they are an incredible band and I love the songs etc but I don't want to watch the exact same thing each time.

If I dont get the Revolution or the NPG on West Holts in 2023 then there will be trouble.

Both bands were Prince's old bands? He was another of these massively over-rated, over-hyped types. So no thanks.
