Been our groups meeting point since 2004 - "The Ireland Tree" - and Ive never seen a pic of it outside of the festival.

Now we can debate whether long grass does help the ground dry out faster, had never really thought about it before.

I might be miles off here but in the back of my mind something is rattling which says it makes no real difference.  Water table level and soil permeability are the main factors.  The fact that the soft ground is only half a tent peg deep is the main positive I'm taking here which will help the ground disperse any rainfall.

By the looks of the webcam the ground will be in a total f’n state by morning

Ground can take todays weather, if it’s dry and sunny for the next few days that will dry out. 
 

that grass is long and it was only cut a few weeks ago!

The festival's not on though. It doesn't churn up the way you'd expect when there's not a quarter of a million people walking about.
