[Aeroplane Over the Sea]

Had tickets to this one for a good few years now!! Has anyone been before and have any tips or festival secrets to share? First time going this year

What did you make it @Aeroplane Over the Sea ?  thinking of going next year and taking our little one

Short answer would be that it’s a really nice, well organised, easy to do festival and not at all hard to do with kids. There’s bits and bobs to do for kids though not as much as Green Man or some others. The atmosphere was all a bit flat but I sometimes do feel that about festivals with lots of day tickets. well worth a go. Good food too, though moderately heavily slanted towards the Americana theme.
 

Longer answer - I’d go again but only if I loved the line up. It was a bit disappointing on a personal level for lots of reasons that were nothing to do with the festival itself  - my wife and I had booked because a load of our favourites were on the lineup (felice brothers, waterboys, milk carton kids, true strays, a few others) but my wife had a challenging covid recovery and decided it was a bit soon for her, so after a load of deliberation I went along anyway, but clearly wasn’t the same! In addition to that, one of our main must see bands cancelled, the waterboys got thunder stormed off after five or six songs, some friends That did come along had a nightmare journey and it ruined their Friday, and so all in all I just struggled to really get in to it. Nothing to do with the festival itself, and I still had a lovely time… it just all fell slightly flat for me as a result.

I’ll be looking out for the lineup though, it was stacked this year for a festival of the size

Thanks for the report.   Line up this year was good, and based on what you've said i would have been going in 2023.  However, I've been reminded by the boss that we have a wedding that weekend!  Looking at Valley Fest as an alternative now
