It is all quite subtle, they could announce day splits without selling day tickets, so I think it might just be down to random circumstances and logistics, no need to fight about this! My experience is that most festival over the world don't seem to like day tickets even if the sum of the money is more from day tickets than weekend tickets. I'm not exactly sure why, but I guess that includes the mood of the artistic curator, fees/logistics, and weekend ticket holders having more chances of coming back the following year.
