I'm not some conspiracy theorist or covid denyer... Stayed in for the first half of 2020, wore my mask, had my vaccines, did my tests, looked out for those at risk... But it has really annoyed me the way the media have tried to drag it out, spreading fear for profits way longer than is necessary.

You only have to look at their initial response to Omicron, whilst every single South African professional (they were ahead of us remember?) Was declaring Omicron as a victory, the strain we needed to start putting things behind us, the UK media tried to spread fear again. Pushing and pushing for further action from the government. Thankfully Boris actually got something right for once, and stood his ground. 

We have to learn to live with it now. It's never going away, ever...

To look on the bright side - Glastonbury has TOO MUCH I want to see, so a few cancellations wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
Also, Junction 2 just got cancelled, so any acts who might've picked up covid there are now in the clear.  

Genuinely curious to know how 'back-up' artists work though.  Aside from those already at the festival, Glastonbury always seems to be able to have someone to step up if any big names cancel.  Any have idea how this works?  Presumably bands aren't told to be on stand-by!

Even if 25% pulled out and no replacements there’s loads to see or do, I don’t know many acts this year so i wouldn’t notice I don’t think

I was intrigued to see if she was still performing and she has gigs at either side of the festival.

They have to because diff countries have diff requirements. you just act like everyones testing and leave it be. Look how many cancellations primavera had due to covid, its gonna hit glasto. And you cant risk exposing crew and staff at the fest just to play the damn gig.

I managed to get it at Primavera last week. Got home Sunday night, woke up Monday morning with a sore throat but thought it was probably due to vaping a lot (something I do t do too often). Took a test just to be safe and it came up. Felt drained and jumped between feeling hot and cold a lot but felt fine again by Wednesday. The mad thing is my missus obviously lives in close quarters, has been here all week rather than go in to the office, yet she hasn't managed to catch it off me. I'm still testing positive today but feel absolutely fine.

Glad I've got it out the way ahead of Glasto, but most of my group going are going to be laying low from the next week onwards just to be safe.

There are artists who have gaps in their schedule ( see GSH) and are ready just in case pretty much. Like the Charlatans filled in for Snow Patrol in 2019 when they had to cancel 2 days prior to their appearance. Thats not by just sheer luck. Im sure they have artists ready to go this time because they werent going to pull the trigger on a replacement for Doja Cat since Sam Fender just moved slots. So we should make a list of acts that have gaps during the weekend and who have gigs so you know theyre not just sitting on the couch waiting for the call.

Test. I don't want to be ill at Glastonbury, but if I felt ok mid week I still might go.

Caught covid for the first time at RTJ in London last week. Absolutely hit me for 6 but at least it should be enough time to recover and be sure of not getting it at glasto

I won't be testing before... If I feel too ill to function I won't go, if I feel better I'll head down late... If I feel too ill after arriving I'll spend the day in the tent, see how I feel the next day, if I don't improve I'll go home. 

I will however take some masks, just in case I get some very mild symptoms whilst there and begin to worry about having and spreading it. 

Had something horrendous last week, started with a sore throat, turned into headaches and cold like symptoms (still clearing my sinuses now.) Didn't test, but don't think it was Covid, as it felt much much worse than when I did test positive in January 2021.
