At least we have the usual game to play: possibile replacements with a similar profile? Fever ray is taken by Bilbao…

... and also by Sonar (Barcelona), so definitely no Fever Ray for PS this year.

Bjork's among the headliners wherever she plays.

Just do three headliners that day. Who is headlining and how many headliners it is doesn't really matters. Maybe we will forget that Calvin Harris is playing that day. 😅

Bjork plays in Iceland on the June 7,10,13 and in Madrid in September … it doesn’t align well for Madrid for sure and neither for Barcelona I guess. Last year might teach us that is must be very difficult to find suitable replacements (even if the event is not sold out) and in no way a replacement can be an upgrade. Maybe we can expect some nice minor names added but once a big one is gone, is gone

edit: for primavera, since other festivals (who might have bigger money such as coachella, but also that one last year that had NIN playing twice replacing someone else) actually do replace names

However last year was the exception, not the rule.

In the past Primavera always replaced headliners, that cancelled with months of notice

Are you really considering Bon Iver or Lana del Rey as a replacement for Fka Twigs? Really?

Why not Bon Iver? Particularly if they have tickets to shift, an upgrade is possible...

They added The Smile at this time last year so not impossible still a biggish name to come.

While FKA is surely not as big as LDR I would say that her status in 2023 would have been similar to that of a band like Bon Iver. She was probably booked by all these festival in main slots with an album release (the proper follow up to Magdalene which was a big release, at least when it comes to critical reception?) overdue.

i don’t think I am wrong if I assume she would have played prior to Rosalia, so the 2nd bigger slot of that day. Calvin Harris would have close the main stage later

Where do you find that FKA Twigs cancelation? She's not in my see list, but I'm curious.

OK, she is out of oya but she is still in the Flow. And both festivals are in August. Primavera is in June, 2 months before.

Someone talk in Lana replacement, but she is playing in São Paulo in June 3rd.

Do we have any idea if another batch of artists is gonna be announced like they did last year?

It seems smaller this time around and to be honest I'm a bit disappointed in the lineup, so am hoping some new additions will make the ticket I bought early more worthwhile

Yeah, expect half a dozen or a dozen new names but mostly small acts but also a slightly smaller number of cancellations.

The poster won’t change much though I have a feeling they will announce a decent name for Madrid to help with ticket sales.

Fka Twigs is on the same level of Maneskin, St Vincent or The War on Drugs on the poster. Bon Iver is bigger than those 4 in my opinion. They are headliners, they played big arenas in Spain, they were the biggest name of PS 2017 on their day, same thing for Mad Cool 2019. I don't know if any of those bands could do the same here. Lana Del Rey is even bigger, she is huge. Popular, long career +40m listeners in Spotify, and even a pop icon. Fka Twigs is more like a niche artist to me

I wouldn't be surprised if FKA and St Vincent go to the Primavera stage (Bigger this year) and the War on Drugs to Rayban. They said they are looking for parity in each stage this year, and they have so many big female names for the Saturday

20:45  Caroline Polachek / Fka Twigs / St Vincent. I'd put my money to Caroline here.

22:20  Rosalia

00:10  Maneskin

02:00 Calvin Harris

Let's see if she is cancelling their tour

When it comes to Brits attending, the pound has in fact been weak for what seems like an eternity - since about 2009 except for 2014-2016.

High hotel, high flight prices and the cost of living crisis are the other major deterrents along with the ones you mentioned.

are you italian?

maneskin after rosalia…?
