True, we've become quite prolific in getting value for our money. Tbf we're usually flying from Venice, so it's not like we're dropping a 1000 quid for intercontinental flights, but to put things into perspective, a Glasto week costs us about an average months salary.

It's easier to keep the spending down if you travel by car/campervan to take food and booze.  More difficult if you're going by coach and don't have mates to take stuff in.  I always choose to go by coach but am lucky enough to have mates going by car to take a copious amount of booze in for me.  Still spend a shitload on food and extra beers though!

The biggest outlay for me by far was buying everything like a tent the first time I went. My second time, probably spent around £300 if not a bit less and that’s with me taking in a fair amount of booze and occasionally buying a cold one. I’m one of those people that likes charging around the site and then randomly plonking down somewhere to have a tepid can and to drink the atmosphere in and then back off to charging around I go. 
 

Most of my money went on food and a few bits of merch. The food is great. The food is fuel. But definitely noticed that my overall spending was lower this year than last. 
 

by far the biggest investment was getting addicted to gym in the year after 2023, but that’s a general life thing and boy did I notice it this year!!! I was unstoppable until lights out at 6am.

The biggest outlay all weekend for us is food (unless of course you are drinking at the bars all weekend but assume most punters bring a lot of their own booze to offset). I've brought breakfast in the past but it's way too much of a faff so I'm not even going to bother this year. 

 

The reality is you can spend very little or an absolute fortune. The way I look at it is that it's once a year and you are bloody lucky to be there so make the most of it and indulge as much as possible.

I spend (after ticket and train fare) about £200 at the most, often less. That's on food, a couple of souvenir t-shirts and one or two drinks (I'm not a big drinker so would only have at most a couple of pints a day on top of a beer or two that I brought in myself).

I spent about £180 this year.  Took a couple of cases of cider, bit of green and some snacks only.  Ratio was about £100 on food, £80 at bars.

Probs about £500 all told, but thatll include a really nice bottle of something for the hipflask, diesel to get there and back, food that i bring with, and whichever nice things i find that i fancy buying (which never seems to be a festival tshirt or hoodie, cos theyre uniformly dreadful for some unfathomable reason) so about £50 a day sees me right for whatever i fancy eating, and the occasional drink. Normally like to try and stay somewhere on the sunday before as well, probs off to a little pub in Yeovil next year for a last bit of carpeted floors for a week.

Volunteering does keep the bills down, not only on ticket price - i've zero interest in doing my shifts with a stinking hangover

We've hired a motorhome last 2 years but with friends, so it worked out about an extra £300.. those friends are no longer going so we've decided we'll also be back camping, looking forward to it tbh being onsite again fully.. although our days camping on Pennard's are long gone now!

There was 'supposed' to be 4 of us to be fair, which would have helped with costs massively, but 2 pulled out, and we still went ahead with it, as we'd paid a 20% deposit. 

I'm looking forward to being on site massively, might even try and get a prime position, near enough a stage, to be able to relax at camp more. My only 2 concerns, being even older now, are that I snore like mad, and I can just about go a day without a shower, but any longer and I properly, properly stink. (I know everybody does eventually, but I'm just a naturally smelly person, if that makes sense, I can't get away with it.) Wet wipes make me feel worse, sticky and horrible. Gotta find some space for a couple of good old 'watering can showers,' managed with that at several other festivals, so shouldn't be too much of an issue. 🙂 

Off topic I know but, the amount of people that use the glamping options purely for showers, you'd think that somebody would have put a proper paid for shower service on site by now. Showers don't need to be off the mains, they seem to use those massive water / fire tanks at Love Fields. 

People think glamping is expensive. Zootopia are charging £250 per person, just for using their showers, and you have to leave site and walk 15 minutes to get to them!!! Madness.

I've never been one of those "omg working the festival is so much better I'll neve be a punter again" people, BUT the free daily shower is a huge draw I must admit. I was very dismissive of it until I had the option and it's life changing. Any hint of hangover is 50% relieved by a shower (although tbh I prefer to beat the queues and shower when I get in at 4-6am then go to bed clean... Wonderful).

Not really, but I do intend to try and work some other festivals next year, so who knows in the future.

There is, but I'm not sure it's the kind of thing I mean. Many will be put off by the fact it's a nudist sanctuary.

You’re also going to need a sauna pass which ain’t cheap. There’s another option, sauna and shower in the bottom of Undle Ground
