Nice and sunny in Bristol all day. 16C this morning in the sun was hot, 23C now in the shade and wind is borderline jumper.

Still ok in trainers on 80% of the site but some of the lower lying areas and dirt paths around The Woods and Silver Hayes are a bit squishy

Thanks for all the updates. Can’t get there yet (grandparents’ childcare doesn’t start yet) so really helpful to know what the ground is like on site. It’s agonising waiting and “working” while actually constantly checking for info 😂

Got soaked putting tent up. Sun's out now and drying nicely. Fields are totally fine, it's just some of the pathways are muddy.

We got drenched queuing up from 11.30am to get in Gate D, paths were turning a slightly muddy on walk up to the gate but fine once in. Tent oitched and fields seem fine

It is baking now. This is the new dichotomy, hard showers followed by unbearable heat - everyone can be pissed off together

Brief update for the stragglers arriving late (like me)…

 

(GFS isn’t that useful for the range we’re in now, but the 12z is very similar to the 6z earlier. This is synthesis of that, ECM and UKMO). 

 

Tonight: Storm warning is in place until 9pm but radar looks clear and no one expecting anything major. Lovely sunny evening, lows of 14 overnight

Thursday: Sunny day, plenty of clear skies, not much cloud cover. However, UKMO warning there is a chance of thundery showers in the morning as temps heat up, and at short range this is typically the most reliable forecast. So we may have another day of dodging short, sharp showers (or not). Temps of 22/23 but will feel much hotter in the fields

Friday: Another dry, warm day (again, 22/23), much cloudier though. Very low chance of some drizzle in the pm but not likely. 

Saturday: As above, but more sun and (currently) no risk of showers. 24 degrees but will feel hotter I expect.

Sunday: Sunny and 23, but with a risk of showers throughout the afternoon (ECM and UKMO agree with GFS now, but percentage chance remains low). Will need to see how this develops over the next few days, could go either way. 

 

So still a bit of risk, but in short - mostly lovely.
