Well it’s all change with the midnight run of the GFS.   It has completely flipped and now gives us a completely dry festival.  But it gives with one hand and takes with the other.   It puts the High pressure over Scandinavia and the North Sea giving us a warm continental feed so temperatures rise by the day:

Wednesday: 24

Thursday: 25

Friday: 28

Saturday: 30

Sunday: 31

Low pressure still lurks nearby to our south, so this is bound to change again over the next 10 days. Let the rollercoaster continue!

Don't let Fuzzy see this sh*t

All hail the 00Z!

This would be my idea of hell. Anyone excited about it really needs to think about how much trekking is involved in Glastonbury

Bringing a young child as well so these temperatures would just mean I miss most acts during the day

On a serious note. Ive not been outside this year in the hot weather for longer than about 10 mins.

The issue I have with trying to acclimatise is, I work in an office. I dont really have a way of doing it. Even if its for 2 hours a day.

I do specifically try ti avoid this kind of weather & stay in as much as possible.

I dont want to spend 5 days sat at my tent, but it's not looking good.

Sounds boujee but cooling face mist cans are pretty bliss on hot weather (currently heavily pregnant and they’re so refreshing)

Apps like Accuweather and Metcheck just use the models that folk like briddj are posting. Which one and when they update I dunno.

Metcheck uses GFS, as posted above but is very slow to update. It’s still showing data from the 18z run.

When it does update its gonna be glorious!

I love the heat on holiday but for Glastonbury where this is virtually no shade, this is too much on the Friday-Sunday. In 2019, I saw far less music as a result on the scorching days as standing in direct sun for long periods of time zaps the energy

The models are really struggling with this setup. There is no agreement at this stage, so any reliance on them is fairly pointless. Many of the major models are out to festival Tuesday and they all have differing solutions.

The European ECMWF has a low to our SW but a ridge of high pressure over the country:

The American GFS says sod that, where you’ve put your high pressure, I’m gonna stick a low pressure:

…and the Canadian GEM also has the low but dispenses with high pressure altogether and brings the low in closer:

So it’s all to play for and could go in any direction from here. Best to pack wellies and flip-flops, sun hats and rain hats, vests and kagoules, and check back in a weeks time…!

I’m gonna suggest perhaps booking a festival at the end of June might not be the wisest idea if you struggle with moderate heat so much.

28-30 "moderate heat"

It's about the highest temperature you will get in the UK, by a significant margin, hardly moderate heat.

I honestly think people on here struggle with the realtive concept of high temperature. 17°+ is very pleasant t-shirt weather.

23+ you will be sweating bullets wandering round a festival

28+ you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think you're going to have a good time at a festival in the UK

Nearly didnt this time.

Of the festivals Ive been to, Only 2010 & 2019 were rancid weather wise. I survived them both.

I guarantee if I dont go next year, it'll be my kind of weather

if people are able, it may be worth spending a while in the sun this weekend to try and prepare - for some reason the past few years Ive caught sunstroke the first day Ive spent out in the sun, after that Ive been golden. if it does turn out to be sunny at the festival just try and not let it be your first in the sun for a while
