Well, Milner RB and Gomez CB worked out a lot better than it looked on paper.

In fairness had the Foden goal stood (correct call to chalk it off imo), you're talking about a very different proposition indeed.

gomez got man of the match from ferdinand, must have been very good.

I remember after the two meetings between Liverpool and Man City last season (especially the second one), there were quite a lot of people calling it a bloodless rivalry citing the fact the two team's players frequently socialised off the pitch.

Safe to say, Sunday's match had quite a lot of spikiness and spice to it.

Not an amazing display against Everton but did enough. Sure it helped a little that Everton's attack struggled to create, but 3 points is 3 points and a bloody good goal to decide it.

Given the awkward start, things seem to be clicking into place a bit more now. Not bad given the run of fixtures to the World Cup isn't the easiest.

Watched Man Utd v Tottenham. Lovely goal by Fernandes but where were Spurs? No attacking impetus at all.

If Harry doesn't fall over in the box, spurs have no goal threat

Stevie G has survived to outlast Liz Truss - but probably only just! 😁

About a few hours longer, as it turned out.

I think it was justified him giving it a shot tbf as he did pretty well to go unbeaten in 2020/21 - albeit in a season where Celtic were in transition - but something about Gerrard and Villa just hasn't worked for most of 2022.

Was always coming that Gerrard sacking. Wonder where he goes from here. The Liverpool job is a million miles away now (not that it was ever really that close). Needs to build up his stock again but not really sure where he does that. Championship maybe?

I can see a Championship move at one point or another.

If Gerrard wants the Liverpool job, I think his best route is to get on the coaching staff.

It'll take a hell of a lot of improvement and a lot of time for him to even have a chance.

Personally I'm very wary of him getting the Liverpool job. Thankfully they don't tend to do sentimental appointments.

It's curious tbf that Gerrard's assistant has hit the ground running at QPR so well that he was a genuine contender for the Wolves job, while Neil Critchley did a very solid job to get Blackpool promoted and to stay up last season. So if nothing else he spotted decent backroom talent.

I think Gerrard will resurface as I imagine he'll want to show he can do better than some of the poor displays Villa were putting in before their decision to pull the trigger. It's the context for the club he ends up with that I'm less certain of.

Daglish 2nd time around was built on sentiment.

Maybe, but not sure.

They needed a short term replacement for one of the greatest managerial frauds of all time. He was an easy appointment and for sure was going to placate the fans, so may a bit sentimental.

Completely sentimental, he hadn't managed for 13 years on a permanent basis.

Jesus had been great for me, as someone who changes their team rarely

Yeah he's been in my team all season but I've only now looked at the fact Firmino is currently outscoring him. Guess it depends if Liverpool are closer to being back in form or will turn to shit again on the weekend.

My other thought is I don't want too many players from the same team and already have 2 Arsenal (White & Martinelli) but only have 1 Liverpool (Salah).

It'll end up being a last minute decision that I get horribly wrong as usual I'm sure 😄

Well if you went for Liverpool attackers for this game week as the answer, it turned out to be the wrong one. Fair play to Forest for getting a big statement win, mind.

Monumentally bad decision. Replaced KDB with Salah too.

Awful performance (again) yesterday. Fair play to Forest, wanted it more. Not sure what to expect from this season really. Top 4 I guess.
