They formed a queue the last 4 times I've been as well.. 4pm, 9pm. Not too much difference made tbh.

 

Those that were going to camp out in their cars overnight still will.

 

And those that weren't  won't.

 

Don't see a huge difference

The rules have always been the car park opens Tuesday night but you have to stay in your car, no one ever does

Friends of mine blagged their way in to the car parks at 10.30am in 2019 and will be giving it a go again Tues.

They’re staying with us in the camper fields so we’ll see if lightening strikes twice.

I think it's to do with recognising that there will be a large number of people that would have been on trains,  that may now be added to the road traffic because of the rail strikes.

Hello. The 4pm opening was an error. It's still 9pm. There's another thread on this. Few (including me) have emailed GF and received the following:

Thanks for your enquiry. Car parks will open at 9pm on Tuesday June 21st.

Emily Eavis just confirmed in a reply on Instagram that they open at 4pm

To be honest, at this point it doesn't matter whether it was an error or not - it's out there that enough that people will turn up for 4pm, and they'll be let in rather than block the roads.

The Car Parks are staffed at that time for Crew arrivals anyway, so it's not going to be a disaster. The only difference I'd expect is that the Marshalls may not be geared up to accept cash payments yet so people without passes might need to be directed out again and told to go to Tesco or something.

I’d imagine (guessing ) that gates might also open a tad earlier than the slightly early they already do to ease pressure …  stewards are on duty from 6am on gates aren’t they ?
