😕 I know where you're coming from with that, and I've been guilty too.. But even without covid, one person's sniffle could be a death sentence for another person. 

Is it time we start being more considerate with all illnesses?

Isn’t that exactly what we did pre covid? (Maybe not real flu because we’d be bed ridden at the start at least) 
 

Lots of comments in this thread saying they thought it was the usual virus they pick up every year at Glastonbury. Did any of those people ever consider the consequences of spreading that virus around? No, because we didn’t have a little home test kit to find out what it was, we just got on with it.

Pretty much everyone I was with has now tested positive. I thought I was just feeling tired and run down since the festival but I'm not so sure now. I tested negative this morning but feeling worse as the day goes on.

I know exactly what you mean, but its hard to weigh up the cost of skipping things due to illnesses.

I had already sunk £500+ in to Glastonbury and it was probably going to be my last chance to see Macca. Thankfully I was healthy before going to it, but if I had a bit of a cold I wasn't going to miss out as a result. I'm sure there were people at the festival who knew they had covid and I don't begrudge them going (despite one of them obviously giving it to me!).

Only way this will work is if event organisers get on board with it as well. Not gonna waste loads of money not going if I can't get it back.

This, 100%. If we want to normalise not spreading illness around you need to be able to your money back if you're ill. And yes, there's no good way to do that which isn't open to "abuse".

I guess this is what we have to come to terms with as a society then.

Covid is not really any different to flu 'NOW' that immunity has built up. (please don't mix me saying that up with the people who said it was the same as flu in 2020) It's still very dangerous to some people, but an inconvenience to others, with some people in between who seem healthy but go on to develop longer term complications... All of these things are true of flu and various other viruses. 

Do we go back to our ways of letting those at risk look after themselves and take their own steps to shield themselves from picking things up, or do we change our attitudes and begin to look out for, and protect, each other a little more? I'm not sure what the right answer to that question is honestly. But it seems to be something we have to collectively come to terms with.

Got it.  My first time.  I'm in the Clinically Vulnerable shielding group so bit scared.  Hopefully it'll be fine.  I was so careful all weekend and all my friends are fine.  Sods law I suppose!

It’s a bit of both really isn’t it? The same as most bugs we pick up from year to year. If you’ve got the flu, avoid the elderly for a couple of days after the worst. If you’ve got norovirus avoid the elderly and infants for a couple of days after the world has fallen out of both ends. With Covid you may need to add a couple of days onto that if you’re being extra careful. 
 

But at the same time if someone is willing to put themselves in a big crowd of people touching shoulder to shoulder then in my eyes they have already accepted any perceived risk. It’s not everyone else’s responsibility to make sure they’re free from all viruses.

I feel rundown today but a fair bit better than yesterday evening and last night when I had a horrible fever and headache. I only got a couple of hours sleep. Just about 24 hours from my positive test now and the first sign of symptoms that I thought might be more than just the post-festival crappy feeling. Hopefully that was the worst. First time having it and I'm assuming I caught it there as I was pretty careful and limited my socialising the two weekends before so not to chance missing the festival.

First time I’ve tested positive for it. I’m sure I’ve had it before when testing wasn’t available. It’s the same kind as feeling as before. 
 

My planned two day recovery time before going back to work will be extended. Time for lots of rest and fluids while we recover.

I think Glastonbury needs a reserve list. Like a subs bench. 

If someone gets ill just before the festival (covid or otherwise), their ticket gets invalidated on the system and someone on the reserve list gets called up. It means the money goes back and tickets go to a good home rather than un used. 

All it takes is every ticket being scanned and the stub removed when it goes through. Which happened when I went in - all were scanned. Just relies on the IT system working.

Some abuse maybe but only if they mess the system up.

I wouldn't test to find out now...  Treat the symptoms and carry on as normal as the illness lets met - same as pre-pandemic.

Given some of the very strong comments a few months back surprised some of you didn't bother with masks 😛 

Went to the pharmacy. Paid £10 for 5 tests. 

Cost of a pint and a half so I don't kill someone's Nan.
