Wait, Noel was bad at Glastonbury? I seem to remember him doing some hilarious banter about his new material and then doing about 45 minutes of absolute belters that went down better than anything non-Macca on the Pyramid?

He was really great and the crowd loved him. Was prob the best sub all weekend.

Pyramid: Arctic Monkeys // Doja Cat // Royal Blood // The Specials

Other Stage: The Prodigy // Rex Orange County // Rosalia

West Holts: Kano

John Peel: FKA TWIGS

Park: PJ Harvey

Saturday

Pyramid: Taylor Swift // Pulp // Lil Nas X // Camila Cabello

Other Stage: Courteeners // Anderson. Paak & The Free Nationals // Robyn

West Holts: Chase and Status

John Peel: Yeah Yeah Yeah’s

Park: Fred Again…

Sunday

Pyramid: Elton John // Lizzo // Paul Weller // Spice Girls

Other Stage: Jorja Smith // J Hus // Father John Misty

West Holts: Michael Kiwanuka

John Peel: Aitch

Park: Sigur Ros

Can’t argue with much of this, other than I think J Hus would headline the Other and I think there’s a general lack of more modern acts headlining.

Robyn is a nice shout but 3rd down Other feels low and also a bit of a strange slot for her.

The Other headliners in general feel pretty weak barring The Prodigy. Jorja Smith especially

Think she was third down other 2020.

See what you mean about the Other headliners, but I feel quite confident Jorja will get a big slot, and the Prodigy / Courteeners sound like easy options that tick both the dance and band headliner options.

Courteeners are due a return and I think them against Taylor would probably get a good showing for them.

I’d move one of saturday’s dance headliners to sunday. Probably Fred so that sunday can have the arcadia dnb day without clashing with c&s. Also don’t think courteeners are headlining other. Haven’t grown since their short other sub in 2019.

Stereophonics big slot i reckon. think they’ve come around to not headlining and they did a lot this year so not tons of options left in the area (iow maybe)

Jorja did Boardmasters so not ridiculous i think. Definitely 3 weak options though

Looks awesome to me. Personally I’d swap Royal Blood and Pulp, those slots feel more appropriate for both acts IMO, and I can see some cool promotion around b2b Sheffield acts on the Pyramid.

YYYs, The National/Elton and Taylor would be seriously hard to top for three headliners.

Feel like I’m taking crazy pills looking at The Courteeners headlining Other. I thought subbing it in 2019 was shocking enough, they’ve surely not gotten bigger since then.

Would love to see her at night, would her headlining The Park or WH be doing her dirty?

WHs wouldn't as it's the same slot virtually but she's not really an act for there.

I could see Royal Blood, Yungblud, The Chemical Bros, Robyn, Kasabian and Jorja making up of Other top two. It also gives the festival female outlets as well.

That saturday night is brutal.

Not sure on Aitch as an other sub, don't know if LCD and Two Door would accept those slots, i think two door would be much more likely sub/3rd other. Hope paolo doesn't get such a big slot

Everyone seems to be saying the same 3 headliners ... are they all looking really likely?

Think they're the most likely as things stand, but it's very possible that one, two or (unlikely) all three are different. I'd say that AM are the most likely of the three and Elton John is the least likely.

Yup where I stand on it too. I could easily see Elton deciding to do BST again like has been suggested, and it’s still up in the air over whether Taylor is actually gonna be active live next year.  One of them could easily be replaced by one of Pulp or Blur who are gonna active. I’d be pretty shocked if Arctics weren’t there.

Stick on this.

That Friday run of Peej > Suede > Black Keys > Royal Blood > B&S > YYY’s would be an all timer.

Whenever Anderson Paak appears in a prediction, it's always with The Free Nationals. I'd prefer him there with Bruno, performing as Silk Sonic, personally. Is there a reason why SS never seem to get mentioned?

Lot of reasons:

  • Silk Sonic's impact in the UK was fairly limited - Silk Sonic's album peaked at 9 in the UK Album charts, their only US number 1 single peaked at 20 in the UK and their highest peaking UK single peaked at 12;
  • Silk Sonic as far as I can see have literally only played about 6 award shows, and then like 30 shows as part of a Las Vergas run. They've never even played an arena, never mind a festival;
  • Paak still tours and plays with the Free Nationals regularly;
  • Bruno Mars is a very expensive act to book, It is highly unlikely he would play at Glastonbury for fee or billing they'd give him;
  • Personally Paak's output with the Free Nationals is a magnitude better than the stylings of Silk Sonic, and I think a lot of the people on a forum like this with would rather have that; and
  • Bruno Mars is shit.

Fair enough, even though the Silk Sonic project is better than anything they've put out individually, imo.
