She was still blowing up for that R&L slot.   She headlined R1 Big Weekend this year (alongside Coldplay and C&S, obviously a bit of a weird one) and then doing APE next year.   Its not that unreasonable imo - she's definitely bigger than Jorja Smith who headlined when i went and arguably Lorde too
