It's neverending!

I think it probably could be neverending - there's so much going on at Glasto that they could probably announce one thing every day between the end of one festival and the start of the next (fallow years more of a challenge), without even remotely ruining the big lineup announcement. The first few months would just be housekeeping and a scattering of breadcrumbs for the obsessives, but would allow the likes of us to talk about actual things, rather idle rumours and self-indulgent make-believe (fun as that is).

I'm gonna say 20th September (this Friday), and £385 (£75 deposit).

This is my guess.  Maybe £395 face value.

Id love them to announce smaller stages first and build up to the main poster...

I’ve always said this, reason being people can investigate acts they don’t know and the bands may make some new fans/listens/publicity etc..

I love this idea. They should drop the Crooner's Corner lineup now! 😂

I wonder what the chances are of some line-up news before T-day to push the conversation away from the process changes and into some more positive buzz?

I think a very very slim chance of a headliner on Monday

Maybe after registrations closed

i guess a small chance but I’d say it won’t be till after the sale as normal … the sale change won’t stop them selling out so they didn’t really need to change things in my opinion .

To be honest the only people complaining are the long time people like us, I heard it on the radio described as much fairer and welcome

Or maybe just afterwards if the new system doesn't go well?

I also think the problem with an early announcement still stands in pushing fans of that artist to make it a ticket sale for them, which adds to the numbers and increases the chances of decent numbers buying tickets with the intention of coming in for just one day.

Wouldn’t necessarily have to name a headliner, or be a formal announcement. Just let slip on line or in an interview that headliners are locked, 2 are new, or maybe name an act or two lower down the bill.

Just idle speculation to spark a polite convo 🙂

Do people really do that?

I think it depends who you announce. If you go for a proper old act (Springsteen, U2 etc) or a really sought after pop act with a younger audience (Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles) where people follow them around multiple shows, I reckon its an issue they'd come across.

Many people have just willingly paid £350 for an Oasis gig that starts at 5pm and has 4/5 bands. I wouldn't put anything beyond anyone these days.

Put it this way, if Rihanna was to play Wembley Stadium, the "golden circle" area, which they'd probably market as something ridiculous like the "Bad Girl package", would probably cost upwards of £250. If they were to announce her for the Sunday at Glastonbury before the sale, those same people might not think twice about going for the day only, despite forking out for a full price ticket.
