It's not necessarily about exclusivity. I used to think the same...why would anyone queue at Glasto. But sometimes it's a sign that there's something absolutely worth it inside. Had the best night after finally deciding to queue for NYC Downlow. Had plenty of drinks in the queue and made bestest friends with the people we were next to!

Oh god the Downlow doesn’t come into it. One of the best nightclubs in the world for the 5 nights it’s open.

yeah but what i mean is - if there is a massive queue - why join it?

walk another five minutes and there will be something you dont have to queue for... whether thats a little stage or a pizza

Totally agree. 15-20 mins max is all I'll queue - for a venue. After that the ratio between is it worth it and just finding something else gets massively tipped.

And I'll never queue for food. Nothing on the Farm is worth queuing for when there's so many options around.

Each to their own on the queuing side... but as long as you've got drinks and surrounded by good company, it's no different to sitting and chilling in any of the fields.

It's not like theme parks where everyone's sober and bored and ratty kids... it's GLASTONBURY 🙌🏼 The queues are good vibes 😊

(Screw sleeping in a queue just to get through the gate and get a camp spot though, you lot are mental doing that!)

I dont actually think anyones queuing for 4 hours though ..... thats  just a random number someone from security has plucked out of thin air ... I used to use a similar method when we had a significant queue at our pizza counter .

We camped beside a few from Liverpool last year who told us they had queued for the Rabbit Hole for 3 hours on a rumour Carl Cox was doing a secret set. As it turned out he wasn't and then there was a power failure about 20 mins into the random DJ set.

I felt so bad for them. All I could think was while that was happening for them, I was getting to watch McCartney jam with Dave Ghrol and Springsteen.

I’d actually say it’s the most over rated club in the world!

Horses for courses and all that.

I'll never get my head around why anyone would lose a night's sleep for no reason just  before the festival starts. Last year I got the train in the morning and was in the festival before 11.30am, queued for about 15 minutes to get in!

Exactly that, there's plenty of space for everyone. Nutters 🤣

Trouble is...it's that follow the crowd thing that everyone can't resist. The same kind of people do it to get on an aeroplane. It just takes that first numpty to get up from their seat and 'START' the queue and people can't help themselves. Dare to be different people come on! 🤣 if nobody did it everyone would end up in the same space, just 8 hours and a whole nights sleep later! I don't get it!

It's different with the little venues where there's limited spaces. You have to take it in turns. But there are camping spots for everyone, just like there's enough seats on the plane... don't do it to yourselves haha

If you're not fussed about a particular headliner, sack them all off and head over to the Downlow! Same tip for the Temple. Minimal queues. Well certainly a lot less than post-midnight

Sunday should be particularly easy, when rumor has it that a strange collective madness will descend upon the site at about 10pm.

I'm pretty sure it does not, but maybe they have one tucked away.

Haha. I was thinking that, but didn't want to say it out loud 😅

See, I would hate to queue for hours only to be disappointed! Last year we did actually sack off Paul McCartney and went before it opened but there was still an hours or so queue! Ended up in a very quiet Temple instead

Contrary to above post I was told it does now … however that might be recent

We ended up in the Temple Sunday night/ Monday morning. Queue looked intimidating but moved really quickly, and once we were in it was totally worth it. And yes pretty sure there are loos in there (despite this lots of blokes were still peeing down the back of the stands 🤢)

Probably because 2019 he actually did do a secret set in there on Saturday night. Was honestly worth the 2 hours to get in. Best thing of the whole weekend!
