LAWKS! It's the next announcement thread

The longer this goes on without a single act announcement, the more the chances of getting a poster as a first announcement increases, shirley. Emily already said it's what she'd like to do, so I'm anticipating a mid-Feb poster drop, especially if the headliners could be perceived as weak.

Exactly. This is what Emily said she wanted to do, it's basically her festival so why not? I said a while back I think that unless someone breaks cover, it'll be one poster. I do however think it will be earlier than previous years.

What we've previous had at this stage:

2022: 1 headliner + Legend + 1 other act

2020: 2 headliners + Legend + 1 other act

2019: 1 headliner + Sunday Teatime Slot + 1 other act

2017: 1 headliner + 1 other act

2016: Nothing

2015: Sunday Teatime Slot

2014: 1 headliner

2013: 1 act

2011: Nothing

2010: 1 headliner

I'm fairly sure there were times in the 90s where there was nothing until you picked up the programme at the gate. Although I'm not sure if I'm misremembering.

Or maybe it was the early 2000s, 2002 in fact (cheers @incident)

Definitely an outlier this century to not have anything by this point then.

All those fests with nothing had early Feb announcements, except 2004. So if we don't get anything next month it'll be a huge outlier!

Imagine if they did that this year. I'd be so mad.

It'd be great.

It'd be worth it just for the the meltdown from all the entitled types on here and social media.

Aside from that, until much more recently (late 00s/early 10s) even a "full" announcement on the festival website didn't include a lot of the smaller stages, and part of the fun of arrival day was settling down at camp and scouring the programme for any hidden gems. I do think that they've taken away some of the excitement by putting everything online a month ahead, and it'd be great to have something like that again.

Agreed, I loved it! Much harder to pull off these days due to the web, socials and self confirms but I'd love it if they could do it again.

I wonder if Emily knows her words in interviews are picked apart to such an insane extent and is incredibly meticulous with what she says (even so much as to f**k with us purposefully) or if she’s incredibly casual about it and her saying ‘full lineup in the new year’ was just an off the cuff comment that didn’t mean much at all.
