The Clearest Blue
Managed a comfortable 19km run last night, don’t think there’s much point trying to do any longer runs before my half marathon. Plan is to do a few more similar length runs and lots of interval training in between to try and get my time down and speed up! 1
philipsteak
Another little milestone ticked off. Nice and early this morning, before the hordes arrive, I walked up Wansfell in one go, without having to stop. I mean I paused for a second a few times to take photos but not actually having to stop to recover before moving on. And felt fine when I got to the top and still feel fine now. Which is good as I'm shortly going in to work to deal with said hordes. About a 440m elevation, straight up over about 2 miles in just over an hour. Been a target for a while cos it's my closest fell (I live at the bottom of it. It literally looms over me. Nicely symbolic.). It's only a baby one but given me the confidence to tackle some of the bigger ones which I've been scared off from doing. I'm still not doing anything other than walking but the last could of weeks I've noticed a real improvement in my fitness and stamina. 1

I have yet to really hit my stride this year.

Ayrshire Chris
Just had a weeks holiday where we walked at least 12 miles a day, Cliff paths as well as normal footpaths. But this has to be set against quite a lot of beer and pub grub! 😉
4AssedMonkey
I finally got my fitness journey started last week. After a chest virus (not Covid) around Christmas left me with damaged lungs I’ve been unable to do any serious exercise and clapped on a load of weight. Thankfully, the lungs have now healed, so started walking/jogging/cycling again. It’s a real struggle but managed a 5 mile hike up a big hill in the Peaks yesterday. Also started dieting. Need to lose at least 1.5 stone. Lost 5lb in week one, so feeling positive. 1
Avalon_Fields
I’ve walked 55 miles so far this month. Glastonbury will be a walk in the park.
ahoykatie
First big walk of the year today! 24km - Sydenham to Richmond, feet are in bits but the egg day roast dinner went down very easy!

Regular Walking, at my age anyway, is easily the best exercise for mind and body. A decent pair of walking shoes is essential. I enjoy the solitude of hill walking but just as happy walking with Mrs C on our local pathways. It makes the festival easy to handle, even the hill up to WV!
Neil
got my next free massage this week - which means the effect of the last massage is wearing off - which explains the increased pain of the last few days. the extra strong painillers aren't having an effect either so there's just lots of pain for me. 😞

The Clearest Blue
Had a decent 20km run on Saturday, took it slow to try and make it easier but the last 2km were a real drain. Took me 1 hour 53 which means I need to gain a km and lose 3 mins in 3 weeks to get a PB at the Birmingham half. Hopefully with a good taper I’ll be up for it. danssol
3 weeks of going to the Gym 3 times a week for weight training and little 2/3 mile jogs on the days off. Not losing weight yet but feeling stronger, which I'll take as a win.
4AssedMonkey
Just did my 3rd weigh in. Lost 11lb in 3 weeks. Also managed a 8.5 mile hike with the dog today. Feeling much fitter.

Bike_Like_A_Mum
I was doing so well...then Oxfam brought out Tony's Chocoloney bars with Glasto wrapping and I fell for the marketing. Now I'm addicted and I didn't even really eat chocolate before
Skip997
Lost 4 or 5 kgs since beginning of the year. Now weigh 76 kg, my target was 75, but have been stuck on 76 for a while, so maybe that's it. Anyway happy with that. Done by changing my diet to largely vegan, cutting out late night snacks and increasing my gym visits to 3 a week. 1

I've just done 7 weeks sober, had a few beers last night at shell island and will now do another 8 weeks sober until Glastonbury.... Only lost about 8lbs but feel better that I've broke the habit of just drinking for the sake of it on my days off

Similar, was aiming for 70 but seemed to have plateaued at 73ish so starting to think that might be me done. 30kgs lost though. If you'd told me that at the start of December I would not have believed you.

Pipine
Amazing effort! I’m working on coming back from 5 weeks off any exercise feb/March when I had a cold virus thing. Back at the 5km runs and cycling to work.. need to step it up a bit if I want to cope with glasto distances.

SighMo
Wonder how many people will finish the London Marathon tomorrow with a Glasto ticket they never had before the start.
