I think it’s definitely Other. If you sub Pyramid there’s a good chance that at least half the crowd aren’t there to see you.

A weird one as it never actually happened and she hasn't headlined yet, but Dua Lipa was down to headline the Other in 2020 and her headlining feels inevitable within the next couple of years.

Have only ever heard good things about 'em live. Saw Hooky's Joy Division show the other week in Leeds, that was a decent evening to be fair.

Wolf Alice was 4th down on Pyramid this year and would have easily been Other Headliner.

Yep when they headlined The Other Stage I wasn’t very impressed. However, have to say they were very good at Heaton Park last year.

Define “bigger”. If you’re a headliner you know that crowd is yours. If you’re sub, a large proportion are waiting for the headliner. I’ve seen some awkward subs, most notably The Black Keys in 2014 where the crowd just wanted Kasabian. They would have been an ideal Other headliner at that time

Fair point. I've seen them live about 16 times. Sometimes they've been fantastic, sometimes they've been average. They're still my favourite band of all time though!

Bigger in terms of indicator of mainstream success Pyramid sub, better (imo at least) Other. 

I think it depends on the artist to some degree. For an Elbow or Noel Gallagher, Pyramid sub is a huge slot but Other headline far better for the likes of The Chems or LCD.

i don’t recall anyone ever listing a Pyramid sub in their favourite ever performances.

I've always felt they were quite interchangeable really, with regards who could be booked for either slot.

Other headliner is 'bigger' though probably, marginally.
