So who do you guys realistically think we have as future 1st time and repeat headliners going forward if the festival continues for years to come.

1st time

Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Foals, Wolf Alice, Lady Gaga, The 1975, The Weeknd

Repeat

Beyonce, Kendrick, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Stormzy, Billie Eilish, Florence

Really can’t see Foals or Wolf Alice Headlining (as much as I would love to see WA given a shot)

add in Sam Fender as a first timer

and add in U2 for returning

Shit, don't know how I forgot Sam Fender. I'd just love Glasto to go back to the roots of giving UK bands a crack at the big one, like they used to , that's why I put Wolf Alice and Foals in there.

Both bands absolutely love and have history with the festival, so why not one year have them and then two absolute worldwide megastars, I dont see the harm in it.

I honestly think Wolf Alice will do it off the back of album 4 or 5.

Yep - I would fully support this.  Just not sure it will happen ... but we can hope

I think by then they will just be in the foals / royal blood kind of situation where theres far hotter acts to push up

I can’t see the Stones or Beyoncé doing it again. They both nailed it and probably don’t want to risk diminishing that by returning.

U2 might feel they have unfinished business though given the weather and jet lag so I half expect them to have another run at it.

I just think she's got enough new material to do it again and absolutely nail it again. I actually think she could be in the running for next year if Taylor isn't booked.

If not do you think she could do the legends slot one year.

Think you'll get an English band /person one night USA band /person another night and a poplar / well known black artist every year now...

No problem with that as long as there great headliners which we all want

First timers - Dave is in the mix and hopefully Little Sims is only an album or two away from the conversation.

Id love to see Little Simz headline. Think she's on the cusp of being an absolute megastar if the next album smashes it.

Fleetwood Mac , Madonna

2 big names that haven’t as yet , think Madonna will see the chance to put out a ridiculous greatest hits album after playing

repeats, blur if there do a new album have to be a shout

I just think FM and Madonna are too greedy when it comes to money to play for what the festival would pay them.

Would be interesting to see what kind of set they'd end up playing.... Achtung Baby was the foundation of their last visit due to the anniversary. They've not really released anything of any such quality for so long now, probably since the 90's, unless they somehow manage to come back with an absolute killer of an album. But what are the chances of that? The Edge promised that their last album would hark back to the sound/experimentation of Zoorpopa and that obviously did not happen and instead they released yet another shoddy album.

There’s way more to what makes an headliner than a good relationship with the festival.

The festival doesn’t think of Foals or Wolf Alice as headliners. Hence Wolf Alice playing pretty low this year (4th down).

Good does not equal on track to headline.

In my view - not all in the 1st time will make it because music moves on. In 5/6 years we will have new names on the list.

1st time (options in next few years)

Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Dave, Lady Gaga, Dave, Drake, Ariana Grande, Sam Fender

Returning

Arctic Monkeys, Adele, Radiohead, Beyoncé, Stormzy, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Oasis.

Bubbling under

Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat

Not happening

Foals, George Ezra, Wolf Alice, The 1975,  Harry Styles.

Why is Harry Styles not happening?

Can’t see her popularity wavering for the foreseeable.

Third album will be critical. Future Nostalgia was an absolute banger-fest and set seriously high standards. I'm hopeful that DL3 lives up to it and she goes from strength to strength having been a fan since I first saw her low down at the JPT in 2016 🙂 She's also got to be one of the hardest working pop stars around!

But I don't think her back catalogue & current success nails her on as a future headliner in the same way that, say, Taylor is. Popularity can go down as well as up...

You think Harry Styles wont headline but Oasis will ?. Harry Styles will probably headline off the back of his next album.

Olivia Rodrigo ? I think Jessie J has got more chance of headlining.
