Enforcement varies. Your biggest challenge will be packing up on the Wednesday and moving your tent into the festival.  Might end up doing it after a shift finishing at 2pm at opposite end of the festival. If Oxfam staff see you, you might be challenged.

I’ve only seen one couple do it, it’s very much the exception. You’ll stand out hiking out the Oxfield with all your gear on your back. In theory, if you are caught, could end up with a cut wristband and escorted off site.

I think the staying with friends thing is more common than that - but the majority of those that do it have the sense not to be quite so blatant about it. Get a friend to bring in some spare gear as part of their stuff, and use a second bedroom in a their tent and that way you've got the option of where to kip down at night.

There's still benefits to maintaining a "base" in the Oxfam Field, especially for getting a sleep in after a night shift as public camping will be much louder during the morning.

It makes sense to have your base at the Oxfam site. Your free food and hot showers are there, you’ll be there from Monday or Tuesday and meet some nice people. It’s also quiet enough to get sleep and time out when you need it.

That said, once the festival gets going no one has any idea if you are on a shift, swinging your cat down shangri la or sleeping in your mates tent in general camping. 

Last year, our friends in general camping had a spare room in a multi room tent and me and my mate who’s also crew used it to store stuff - booze, clothes for the evening and stuff you don’t want to take in and out all the time 😉 and occasionally accidentally 😂 slept there if the walk back seemed a challenge. 

What you absolutely can’t do is to leave Oxfam camp with all your stuff on Wednesday morning - aside from being against the rules to camp on site, it looks like you’re gonna do a runner!

Will a walk from the Oxfam campsite to Pilton Co-op on either Monday or Tuesday be possible? I’m trying to reduce my travel baggage so would be great to be able to nip out and get a few crates on my trolley

You could always sleep in your car on the Tuesday night... then set up you tent on the Wednesday. I know people that did that last year with wateraid...

The Oxfield car park is on the other side of the campsite to the entrance into the fest though, so you'd still get spotted lugging your gear through.

I’ve never been to Pilton despite being to loads of Glastonburys, so this is my Tuesday job for me as well (assuming the weather is halfway acceptable)

The Crown is a cracking pub but not sure what the sketch is during the festival and have only ever gone to and fro when working at Worthy Pastures when there was not the super fence.

You could walk up the side of the skatepark opposite Worthy Farm and be at the Co-op in 15 minutes. It seemed weird being back last year and fenced in. It's quite fascinating how everything is when normal and all so completely different for the month of June.

My plan is to do this or try to hitch with someone going to Shepton Mallet for a beer run on the Tuesday.

A better shout this. The Co-op in Pilton is tiny. Good to support with some spend but if you are talking festival levels of purchasing, Aldi In SM would be a wise choice

Not 100% sure yet but expect we’ll be up the hill from Gate B like last year. 

Tuesday you should be fine, you’ll be done with any admin and training/gate familiarity during the day so you’ll be able to get across to the East CV fields easily enough. 
 

Bear in mind that if you’re on an early shift on the Wednesday then you’ll probably be starting at 5am!

Do you have to refresh page on the Oxfam site for new availability to show, or can you just toggle between the 'select your festival' and the drop down list of festivals available?

You'll need to refresh the page for it to update.

Toggling will only change the view of the same info and won't pick up changes to the page.
