RedRockRick
It should be time to start this up again. The BBC forecast says: "Following a period of unsettled weather, we may see generally more settled conditions towards the end of August. As we head into September, spells of rain or showers are likely, with the most widespread of these in the north and west. However, periods of dry and sunny weather can still be expected in between. Temperatures are likely to be above average, with the occasional chance of very warm spells." To avoid bent tent pegs, we need a week of Green Man-type weather ending on the Bank Holiday weekend, then a repeat of the weather from 2021. My orfer's in. Guy Incognito
We'll get one big downpour for 30mins and no other rain for the rest of the weekend. Sunday evening will be freezing. Same as every year.

Guy Incognito
2017 was lovely until the sunday and even that was manageable.

goldengirl
Sounds hopeful from the met office. Not hoping for a 3rd heatwave personally... : The conditions are likely to become generally more settled towards the end of August. Moving into the start of September, the north and west may see periods of rain which could occasionally spread further south and east. Some brighter and more settled periods are also expected, especially across the southern and eastern parts. Temperatures are likely to trend above average with the chance of occasional very warm spells.
SweepingTheNation
At the risk of stating the obvious it's no good being fatalistic about the weather in three weeks' time when we don't accurately know the weather for the end of this week, but don't forget that there were 30+ C temperatures in the south in the days following EOTR last year... shoebox
It was HOT at EOTR last year, despite forecasts in the days prior to it being for ordinary September weather. Don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty of looking at long-range forecasts as the next man, but there is very little we can read into them. What I do know is that if this year, there is even the remotest chance of warm weather, I'm remembering my shorts and hat this year!
domjon
Last year was perfect weather! I'd take that again in a heartbeat. Seems a long time since we've been shivering our tits off at night doesn't it tbh. Edited August 14, 2022 by domjon
Vamagus
Sunday 2017 was fine - a bit damp that’s all. 😁 The Jesus and Mary Chain were suitably apocalyptic in the rain…… That being said I’d rather have dry weather this year……still it’ll be f’ing freezing over night regardless. Punksnotdead
Less than a week to go and it's still bizarrely mild at 11pm - could we be heading for that rare situation, warm nights at EOTR?

We spent a fair bit of time in the beer tent watching a massive slug up on the ceiling of the tent and willing it to drop down into someone’s pint.
