Any chance of him proving it?

You really think that I'm bullshitting or that I'm going to post details of a private email on a forum of strangers just because you've decided you don't like me.

Guess you neither believe that I work there every year or that I even go.

I don't think there's any need for that.

It's fairly common for people who've got a relationship either directly with the festival or with certain crews - SEC, T&C, Greenfields for sure - to be offered the chance to add people to the F&F list.

I should mention that my understanding of how the process works is that putting someone on the list does absolutely not guarantee they'll actually be able to purchase tickets - as mentioned by stuie, their registration effectively becomes whitelisted for the right to purchase but that only helps if there's actually tickets available.

The one I had this year had a time limit. After I’d been added to the list I got an email on 4th May and I then had until 5pm on 6th May to purchase a ticket using my registration number.  As it happened I’d already secured a place with Oxfam by then so I tried the reg number of a ticketless friend and it didn’t work.

The email did also state that the offer was at the discretion of the organisers, only valid to me and the ticket would be withdrawn if I posted about the offer on social media or public forums! 😂

Would be amazing if there was a way of limiting the travel to the postcodes local to departure points 🙂 ( but only if they kept the number of buses going from mine 😂) think I was one of the only locals on mine as we got lost fairly near to departure point and I shouted directions to the driver to stop him getting stuck down a dead end

When I got the coach this year from Oxford (4 miles from where I live) there were A LOT of people who had travelled up from London (and elsewhere) to get the coach, unsurprisingly they were nowhere to be seen on the way home!

They don’t put enough coaches on from the South East so that’s not surprising. There are no coaches from Kent / Essex / Hertfordshire at all so all these people have to go to London.

A group of my lot from Margate travel and stay with our mate in Oxford as those tickets are easier than London which always go quickest.  I was going to do the same thing but I got a place with Oxfam in the end.

Also, in the past they’ve booked separate National Express return tickets as the See coaches return times to Oxford were at a ridiculous time, so that’s another reason you might not see people on the way back!

Am I the only one who secretly enjoys ticket day?  Just a tiny bit?  Although the last ticket day was my first ever failure, which has taken the shine off a bit...

I used to until the first year I was unsuccessful as always kind of assumed I'd get them by the end of it. Now I dread it! Three times unsuccessful in the main sale for me now... feel I'm due a good year.

In terms of departure points I've never had to desperately go for something else because by the time London goes everything else pretty much has usually. That said I'll be looking at London, Cambridge (where the rest of the group are) and anywhere that could feasibly be en route so like Reading, Bristol etc. I don't think I'd try for a northern destination unless it was the resale. Seems nuts before even the main sale has passed.

Yeah we're all Watford area - reading/oxford are our backups really as they are for most of london. Coach from like Milton keynes or somewhere would be great, or maybe Luton as its very easy to get to from central london

If your in west london its probably easier to get to Reading than the o2 and you shave at least an hour off the coach journey

Could be worse, you could live in North West Wales. The closest buses are in Liverpool, a 3 hour journey from some places.

Don't even get me started on the North of Scotland.

So, totally missed the announcement and assumed T-day was this coming Sunday. Hoping to go with a group of friends who haven't been before (or not for many many years!) and nagged them incessantly to get registered before Monday just gone as was sure that was the last day.  Now feel like a total muppet AND have the torture of waiting another month!

I enjoy ticket day when I'm successful

I'll be going for the coach from Brighton, and should both I and my Sunday sale gang get lucky I'll be getting a lift home afterwards, I have done this a few times. The return coaches can quite often be under occupied

I have to say this thread has really amped up my excitement and fear for  T Day now. The rollercoaster is now dragging the cars to the top of that first drop!

Yeah this is true re Reading. But I'm still tempted to try London first as there are more of them...

Yeah knowing the time is a huge bonus for me for the London options too. Thinking if we get an early one might actually book a cheap hotel over in North Greenwich the night before to avoid the whole tube journey morning stress.
