How long is the walk? Thinking of trying Sticklinch next year (have stayed in WV twice now) but not sure I fancy a long trek with all my stuff!

Unlike WV it doesn't have big hills, it's downhill or flat but it's maybe 15-20 minutes?

So you wouldn't want loads of cans or the like. Obviously if you had pals driving there they could bring some stuff.

I'm in my 50s and found it fine - just brought spirits without mixers, I also got a bunkpad so I didn't need to carry an airbed.

yes that was my "mathematical" calculation of that walk too last year (as in based on distance). More if carrying a heavy pack of course. To compare, I had sticklinch at 15/20 min from gate A, Worthy view more at 20 mn. I did the gate A to Worthy view last year without luggage and it was totally fine, but a heavy pack up the hill may give you the need to lay down a few minutes when up before you check in and get your tent.

Was there a delay on the shuttle or did you fancy a look at the site? Just wondered why you'd walk to WV as I thought that was the trade off for the hill.

International tickets + WV + car trip... Parked at WV, took the shuttle to gate A to get our tickets, walked back as it was early morning and we could use the set up the tent and chill time and didn't want to wait again for the shuttle, and without luggage it was a nice walk. Luckily this year aiming for coach or if GA the tickets will be sent to Europe this year. It was quite funny seeing the shuttle coming in all packed and just a handful of (internationals) going the other way. We even helped unloading the luggage to speed things up.

Ahhh, that was nice of you 😊

That did sound like a very odd set up this year with the box office, glad they've reviewed.

Does anyone know where I can find the specific time that the coach would leave a specific place (Edinburgh) on either the Wednesday or Thursday? I can only see the day and cost.

You will not know that know. Times for these are known a month or two before the fest. Leap of faith.

OK - thanks!

In that case, has anyone been from Edinburgh beofre and know the rough time? The National express (which I have taken my two previous times) leaves at 10pm on the Wednesday. I am hoping the See coach is another night bus.

There was a thread for this years coach times on here, it had them all listed. If there’s more than 1 coach time from a city you won’t be able to choose which time, they tell you a month before. Makes it difficult to plan ahead.

If you’re coming in through Gate A (which is the bus station), you’ll pass a property lock-up shortly after you come through if you wanted to temporarily drop some stuff off and come back later for it (if you can be bothered) 🤔

I believe uk only. Credit card for us internationals. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've just been asked by one of my groups a linked question to this.  We have a couple of groups that have both UK and overseas within them.  Does the below suggest that only UK people can actually purchase for the entire group, or would the overseas resident be able to buy for UK people also?  Anyone know?  Thanks  image.thumb.png.df8d28a5a5058164012f0b03d9b8fc5f.png

As long as it's paid for it's fine.

We live about an hour and 20 away by train / bit further drive.. is it worth trying for coach just for the extra chance? Heard its a pain if you are taking crates and you can't buy them on site like at Reading/Leeds

I do it for the extra chance but I don't drink so the appeal of bringing a crate means nothing to me. Completely personal choice.
