HMHB is the dream!

Only just caught up with their last album and yeah, would absolutely love them on the line up. What a glorious and heartbreaking song 'slipping the escort' is.

Guess they're more likely to write a song about EOTR than play it though.

I really enjoyed the Holodrum album this year, would love to see them in one of the tents

One of Holodrum is in Yard Act so it depends what they're doing.

I imagine there's more to come given it's not a big name list below the headliner line but I'm surprised that there's no overseas acts on the initial Manc Psych lineup given they have to sell tickets but also had so many last year some didn't even play EOTR.

Big lot of meh for me. I imagine Sorry will be back.

White Flowers, Underground Youth, Maruja, Regressive Left would be good in my opinion.

I'd expect Heartworms to be booked, they seem to be gaining a fair bit of traction at the moment.

What's your secret? How do you stay abreast of all this new stuff (I'm always hearing it for the first time at EOTR)

For me it's following lots of promoters on twitter. They often tweet out really small gigs. Think that's where i first came across black midi and BCNR back in the day.

My main thing is going to loads of gigs, mainly at small venues, making sure I always see all the support bands and then buying magazines such as So Young, Loud & Quiet etc.

I don't like everything I see or read about but if I do I'll follow them on bandcamp and Instagram and then check out other artists on the same labels.

Also I listen to a lot of NTS which gives me a crap load of recommendations for stuff outside of the predictable 6music sphere.

I've seen a lot of bands who are getting bigger now play 2nd or 3rd on the bill to about 40 people at some point.

Just scanned the EOTR Best Of 2022 albums list, and thus as a progression from this am very much looking forward to seeing Kendrick Lamar in the Tipi in September.

I do wonder if The Smile would be a headliner actually.

Ezra Furman seems very likely as well

Future Islands are supporting Noel Gallagher on 26th August.

Definitely could.

Seems Amyl is nailed on. Who else? Sigrid? Divine Comedy?

Nailed? Really???

Also...First Aid Kit? Sorry for mentioning em twice this evening, but have gone down a Swedish wormhole tonight and 'tis wondrous.

I find First Aid Kit dull as dishwater so hope they're not playing.

I struggle with their lyrics. With me, it's music first, lyrics second, but if the lyrics are blatantly clunky then I struggle: theirs sound like they've been translated from morse coded Swedish using the 1967 version of Google translate.
