With her dropping the new album and the recent Fred remix, I reckon Nia Archives will get a mainstage slot

Another dance act in the middle of the day a lot of people won’t be into, with little alternative for 60,000 people, just what the festival needs.

One of the most popular dance acts at the moment, big on tiktok too

More people would be interested in her than some of the shite rappers they will no doubt book around the 2-3pm time when she'd likely be on

Don’t disagree, I’d be one.

Just a shame that those who are really keen on seeing her will experience it at 2pm in the daylight as opposed to a more appropriate venue and time

she could very easily be on the dance stage anyway tbh - shes not even remotely close to too big for it atm

21 Savages new album is really looking like he's a stunning booking.

He's got enough songs to do a full headline slot tbh. At least 15 songs he can perform and the crowd will know all the lyrics.

Far better than recent sub bookings like Polo G, or headliner MTS with the 1 song people know.

For sure, think he'll be great.

R&L could have seriously had:

MSE>> Lana Del Rey | Blink-182 | Liam Gallagher

MSW>> 21 Savage | Fred Again.. | Jorja Smith

With Raye, Skrillex, Prodigy subbing the MSE..

And that would be a sell out already. I don't know if others feel the same, but just seeing Gerry Cinnemon and Catfish in the headline spots seems to 'cheapen' what is being offered and that makes me hesitate, even though it very very clearly is absolutely stacked with others in the undercard.

You're possibly right but 21 Savage is still there. I'd rather 8s be what it is but Lana should really but in place of Fred

Again shows the pointlessness of the 2 main stage thing.

A solid lineup filled with choice of people you want to see is a much more attractive proposition than cramming in ‘names’ individuals have zero interest in

The same names without two big indie names would sell out but the same names with them wouldn't

Jesus christ

Yep, as the saying goes "you can die a hero, or you can live long enough to see yourself become the villain".

4 great headliners - hero, then adding the other 2 - oh.

In day-trading we call it averaging down.

How would 21 savage and Jorja Smith be any different? They are even smaller 😂

How does having all of those acts mentioned anyway PLUS two more big acts cheapen anything?

This might be the most brain dead comment this thread has seen in a long while.

It’s like the people who say Download should book KoRn to headline when they can book three headliners AND KoRn anyway.

Because it averages down.

How does a football league with Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema, Lodi, Mahrez, Firminho, Saint-Maximin, Dembele, Neves, Joao Pedro, Wijnaldum, Koulibaly, Mendy, Kante, Mane, Mitrovic, Jota still get called a farmers league?

Because the rest of the lineup cheapens it.

You are the sum of who you associate with. 10/10 acts headlining alongside 1/10 acts and you start to question whether they are 10/10 acts or are you just over-egging them.

If Blink headlined R&L and then Solihull Summer Fest, then you'd question whether R&L is as great as you previously thought.

While in itself Chad’s post is ridiculous in its core proposition, less names are not going to help it sell, it does raise the question:

Are people going to pay £115 quid to see 21 Savage if they have no interest in Gallagher and CATBM?

And vice versa, how many Gallagher fans are going to pay £115 quid to see him, given he’s tour extensively for much cheaper of late?

I can’t see many people buying this day until the full lineup is out and people can see what else they may be able to see while acts they have no interest in seeing are on

As things stand, I have absolutely ZERO interest in that Reading Sunday, it’s in no way worth the 80 quid or whatever a weekend day works out as.

More names are needed and some kind of timetable is needed, otherwise these random mix or artists just aren’t going to shift

I fear with their focus on day tickets now, these multi genre days are really going to have trouble selling at those prices

The difference is music is subjective. Your 10/10 act is not a CATBM fan’s 10/10 act

Just because you love the new 21 Savage LP and other people you know love the 21 Savage LP doesn’t mean that EVERYONE wants to see 21 Savage live…

As above I have no interest in paying close to £115 to see him or CATBM live or indeed a combo of them and Liam Gallagher, they’re all farmers’ league players ‘to me’…

Probably, his Depot Mayfield show was around £70, O2 around £50-120 - both sold out as far as I'm aware. With a few more rap names on there, I'll be very shocked if it didn't sell out.

Big difference in selling sheds in City Centres at a lower price than fields in Berkshire/ Yorkshire

At least being on early would allow people the chance to get home though!

For sure, but it is still a very strong non-headline booking - even if he is also doing the likes of Wireless too which is obviously more suited to the crowd he'll be attracting.

Yup clearly it’s a good booking I think Chad has a point though, even if it’s not his actual point 🤣

Chances are not many 21 Savage fans are going to want to sit through CATBM or Gallagher.

Not many Gallagher or CATBM fans are going to want to sit through 21 Savage.

And there will be a fair few people considering a weekend ticket who don’t want to sit through any of them…

It’s gonna be a tough day to sell. Esp if he is also at Wireless

I can't think of any who would sit through vise versa. There is variety of tastes but they are right the way the others sides of the spectrum
