Just to clarify Nordic Spirit Stage was 100% written in jest after seeing Download essentially rebrand itself to Liquid Death for sponsorship😂 I wouldn't be surprised if we do get some stage name shake ups though

Honestly, this would be pretty class. Decent mix of classics and new kids on the block, nice genre balance, the top line acknowledges the existence of women; good sh*t.

Also given kasabian dropped down a bit (for a year or so anyway) as a far more established band albeit with different reasons, i wouldn't be too shocked if catfish do too.

They'd be a very strong MSE sub mind you

Shows how easily it could actually return and actually make the festival better for everyone.

-Far better chance of there perhaps being something on people actually want to watch as opposed to sitting about the campsite half the day

-More people in the arena spending more for the organisers and less expensive to book

Just need 7 or so more smallish acts a day to fluff out the bottom of the lineups

What do you like about it?

Im trying to think of one thing I like about it and I’m not sure I can. 

The obvious potential advantage is there is always ‘something’ on, whether you like it or not, although I expect that would be the case anyway.

Otherwise, as you say, even the yo-yoing is annoying

 

Judging by your second paragraph you don’t seem too bothered about who’s actually playing, or perhaps even if no one is playing for a bit between acts?

Having attended another festival this summer we had a fair bit of downtime when there was nothing we wanted to see on. The difference being that there was other things to see/ do (art installations, cabaret acts etc), or indeed just nice places to hang out and wait.

I think that last point is one thing Reading (can’t talk for Leeds) lost with the new layout. While not ‘nice’ as such people did just hang out at/ near stages which created a bit of buzz despite there being no one on. That’s gone now too for whatever reason, bar maybe down by in between the 1extra and FR…

Although they are clearly bricking it given the fact they discounted it by 30% in a desperate attempt to get those who f**ked it off as the new format is sh*t back!

He’ll also be bricking it that you and your peers now discount it as “a festival for 16 year olds” as it never was and again that perception is something that they’ll have to change to keep viable
