However, in a Leap Year the Solstice is on the 20th June. This hasn't affected this rule in leap years over the last 30 odd years cos the 20th has fallen early in the week. However, next year, the 20th is the Thursday so the first full weekend after is 21st - 23rd. So will be interesting to see if GFL keep to the last weekend in June that it usually is or the official first full weekend after the solstice. 

The only time that last weekend in June does not match first full weekend (Fri - Sun) after the solstice is on a leap year when the 20th falls on a Thursday so I reckon they'll just stick to 28th - 30th, but you never know.

Hopefully they'll stick to the 28th to 30th, otherwise i'll be missing this year as ticketless (unless I can bag an Oxfam spot) and next as I won't be able to take leave from work.

Yep agreed. I’m pretty sure the one that dropped out this year is Rihanna because of her pregnancy. Superbowl was meant to be the start of a big comeback for her until the baby came along. So she is most likely of all rumoured here.
 

I’d really rate them for getting 3 female headliners to be honest. It would be a real return to the progressive nature of the festival after this years stale roster.

I used to work at a hotel where the Verve stayed before playing Eden. The band were all there except Ashcroft who stayed at a different hotel on his own. I drove them to Eden and upset the drummer when I asked him if he was part of the crew, as I didn't recognise him..

I think having to put lizzo on the first line to make it seem as if theyre still with the times was the semi embarrassing moment. Especially when emily admitted she couldve headlined.

GnR wouldn't have taken a sub slot. Lizzo did. I doubt there's much more to it than that.

New Dua Lipa single this Friday. It’s for the Barbie movie, so no new album rollout just yet, but her being back with something new is a good indication that the ball will be rolling on that soon for her to inevitably headline next year.
