I agree but each to their own but I think they should ban camping chairs from that field it makes walking through so hard especially when there is 10 in a row, Elton was so much better once they told everyone to stand up

Wait until you're in your 60's with swollen cankles and tell us all about it!

Agree

But it's nothing compared to the Beautiful Days "great chair wall" which this year seemed to be about 20 deep and stretched most of the way across the main arena.

Wait til you say that when she releases another album in 3 years and say she needs another. Keep moving the goal posts. Billie had 2 out and did it. The biggest difference is Olivia has only toured once and it was theaters. Billie had run through the worldwide festival circuit already and did an arena tour along with headlining other fests. But of course the argument overall is you are elevating somebody too soon supposedly. But the bigger problem is nobody really lets artists just grow on their own and cultivate a fanbase and such organically. You have some decent success and sell a bunch of albums and maybe get a #1 and you literally have to headline fstivals on the following release or youre gonna lose out on everything. Or so thats how its supposed to be with anyone new.

How can i move goalposts if they weren't there to move in the first place, so to speak. Seems a strange turn of phrase. Glastonbury headliner is a big deal. There are a lot of artists out there that haven't done it, with more material that would put on a better show. That's not me hating on her at all, I just think it would be a little underwhelming as it stands.

Navigating the landscape of potential festival headliners, ruling out George Ezra's availability due to his busy schedule this year. The anticipation for artists like Dua Lipa and Sam Fender adds an exciting dimension to speculations about the future festival lineup.

Actually... what is Sam Fender doing next year?

If we are considering a "when not if" scenario regarding Fender would they push him forward a year if they were in a pinch?

He needs some more material first, I assume he’s 2025 in anticipation of him putting out another big album before then

Think his next album is due 2024.

I'd say it's a done deal that he headlines on the next album, but if it's out (or at least has a big single or two out) in time for Glasto then he's a possibility if they're stuck.

It also wouldn’t be the first time someone had headlined ahead of (or just after) their album coming out and played a bunch of material off it (Coldplay 02 for example)

I've banged this drum before, but I'm going to do it again. No apologies.

If they are still struggling to find someone, get on the phone to Billy Joel. I know that the Cardiff show was billed as his only European appearance, but that can be smoothed over with some PR.

He'd deliver a cracking 2 hour set to send everyone home smiling.

And before anyone says it - yes in terms of star power it's not a substitute / step down compared to Madge. So what. Nearly everyone is, just have to accept that as likely.

FWIW I don't think it'll be him, but I would say he's on the list of people they could call if they were in a bind.

I don’t disagree with anything you say but he demands absolute top top dollar - I’m sure he’s getting paid for that Cardiff show - and that usually means it won’t happen.

Don't think it would happen but Liam Gallagher is free on Glastonbury weekend. He plays Manchester on the DM tour on the Thursday. Can't see them going down that route though.

The need for a camping chair while watching an act will signal the end of my festival days.

For someone who doesn't go to the Pyramid, you don't half spend a lot of time obsessing over whether people are standing, sitting or dancing to your standards there.
