Pretty sure both nights in Glasgow were sold out. They also played 4x in London I think so clearly huge demand.

I don't think this is a problem unique to them

I've noticed repeated adds for the Weezer / Pumpkins stadium tours not selling out.

I think people are feeling the pinch it might well mean it's getting harder for punters to stump up for stadium price tickets.

It may well be a sign that things are changing no fault to the artists.

I mean yeah that is a bit ambitious for acts well passed there peak.  Perhaps an Ego needs to take a hit...... in that cano.

The 1975 tickets were £75 and they are a bigger deal right now.

But despite both rebuttals I still feel that we are gonna start to see more big stadium shows struggling to sell out

Unless people are living under a rock their is a cost of living crisis and these big tickets are gonna start to be out of reach for a lot of people, that previously would have gone to these shows in a second

Artists might need to adjust their expectations accordingly

Not wrong at all. 5-10 years ago, I've have bought a ticket to every night of The Killers at The O2 for £50 a pop. Now I don't have a single ticket when they're £100+ each.

I think this is why these bands are playing multiple dates at arenas wothout them selling out. I think the lesser costs for load-ins and everything, plus also a possible a bulk booking discount with a venue, means it is more financially viable to play multiple shows at 70% capacity than it is to play one or two at 100% capacity

i just checked the remaining tix for the 1975 tour and it is essentially sold out. A few tickets left for Birmingham and that is it

The price of those Killers are shows are a complete disgrace. It's more pricey than their stadium tour and about double their last arena tour in 2017 ish

They won't. You must be happy you won't miss them by being at Glastonbury though. Tropical or not.

Ummmm it's still a nightmare as I'm looking into volunteering so seeing them in London is out.... although apparently the sound at the stadium there playing at is sh*t..thinking of Berlin...or Barcelona..you been to either Old son

Yep, still plenty of seats and that’s with the top blocks curtained off judging from the map on Ticketbastard. Thats very expensive.

This seems to happen quite a lot with Glasgow though. Unless someone is willing to play the SEC itself (which is terrible for gigs) there’s a big gap between the Academy and the Hydro in terms of available venues at the right capacity. When I went to the Hydro for HAIM, Elbow and The National there were decent portions of the upper seats blocked off. But if you’re an act capable of selling roughly 3/4s of the Hydro (as with the latter two) or even half (as with HAIM) there’s nowhere else to go.

It's good for the customer tbf, cause I got National tix the day before for 40 quid. For an arena show in this day and age I was delighted. Great gig too.

Hopefully bands like that don't stop playing here...

Well the one year I don't have tickets....is the one year that PEARL JAM could possibly play the Friday.....f**king tropical init 😂😆

You can get tickets for their tour though can't you? There isn't any indication that they will be at Glasto.

I think if you are a Pearl Jam fan without a glasto ticket it is the best outcome. You'll see a band you love and it'll ease missing out on glasto.

Sorry not buying it. Still get tickets for Manc tonight for £50 from original POS

Please don't feel the need to defend an act you likes honour by saying they have sold out. As I said its probably more to do with cost of living crisis going on.

I was looking at ticketmaster, and there was a handful of tickets left max. The ones you linked are restricted view and again you can quite clearly see it's a handful left. It's 99% sold out

Tickets: The 1975, Manchester | Sat, 17 Feb 2024, 19:30 | Ticketmaster UK

Correct it has not sold out, I'm not gonna waste any more time trying to convince you.

The £58 ones on the same page are not restricted view.......

I feel you might go away and but all those remaining tickets now lol

Yeah the restricted view tickets for 1975 are literally behind the stage at AO Arena. I'd say you can class this one as sold out with extra seating opened just because they can.

As the link I provided shows there are restricted view and regular seating still available

For £160 for standing in London and Manchester, there are going to be a lot of PJ fans, myself included, who are going to give it a miss

Exactly this I think some of the people on here are a little oblivious to the current financial situation of many in the UK.

To think that even dedicated fans are gonna keep paying £££

Everyone has a limit on what they are willing to pay and a lot of people are reaching theirs

There is gonna be changes in gig ticket selling  trends over the next few years and I do not know which way it will go.

I imagine with only 2 UK dates it will still sell out. But £160 seriously. I got 2 days at BST to see them last year for £120 and that included 2 full days of music. Sadly people will pay and prices will keep going up.

No there isn't normal seating.

The 1975 Tickets | Saturday, 17 Feb 2024 at 6:00 PM (seetickets.com)

section 201 upper tier restricted view. I guarantee any footage from the show and it will be absolutely packed and essentially a sell out. If you want to get into semantics then no it is not full sold out, you can still buy restricted view tickets, but it has sold very very well and is 99% gone

Only tickets showing are restricted view in section 201. If you go to AO Arena enough you'd know that section is not normally open as it is literally behind the stage. The normal areas are sold out, which imo, classes this show as sold out with overflow being used.

In all honesty I’m not sure that anyone else really cares if The 1975 have a few seats left in Manchester.

if they were headlining Glastonbury - it would be relevant for this chat….. they aren’t and I’m personally very very happy about that.

Happy Valentine’s Day all
