Haha it's fine, I'm honestly not even that much of a fan- I've only seen them once and that was at trnsmt in 2017. Was just on my mind cause I saw how busy the Hydro looked on people's insta stories and was shocked at how many people i knew that went!

I do think they deserve to headline tho

I'm undecided on them.  No idea if I'd watch them. Would be shocked if they didn't get the call at some point.

I think that GnR (much as I can't stand them) are one of those acts that was worth booking simply because they are a legendary heritage act that bring more kudos.

1975 would have been fine alongside AM and Elton - two strong headliners

Bet they'd have been far cheaper than GNR too, saving £££ for elsewhere (e.g. Williams Green!)

I always wished they'd bin off Prestwick , Glasgow  and Edinburgh airports and build a mega one half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Falkirk International Airport has a nice ring to it

I can see the logic but as I currently work at Glasgow Airport and live 3 miles away that sounds like too long a commute 😂

I always thought his view was he wanted fresh, current people doing it

But he just presumably doesn’t want nasty racists. Don’t think that’s an especially unglastonbury take.

Have The 1975 ever played a secret set? I could see them doing something like that at some point.

I hope it's so secret that even they dont know about it 🤣

The Coldplay booking is so uninspiring and quite frankly a cop out to save £.

I think they blew their budget with last years headliners they had to scale it back a lot this year.

There may be truth in this. However if G can get Coldplay on a shoestring and spend elsewhere then I have no objection. They are incredibly huge and whilst not to my taste, cannot be knocked as a festival headliner.

Uninspiring? Definitely. Inappropriate headliner? No way.

Not sure what you’re referring to

Also glasto hardly against having problematic people playing. Kanye headlined, one of the guys from foo fighters is a mad aids denialist nut job

Is Matt Healy really that bad?

I’d be all over this. Hope it’s true.

Folk who've been going for decades have different experiences and expectations to Folk going for the first or second time.

It's been 8 years since they last played. It's not like Metallica showing up at Download every year.

I don't think he's recorded anything as genuinely racist as One In A Million.

When singular acts (some not even headliner level) are now charging upwards of £90 for a single ticket…..

It kinda makes the £375 for Glastonbury seem like steal of the century

Yeah, whoever the headliners are I know I'd comfortably spend north of £300 seeing them.

Kanye hadn’t done anything as problematic before he headlined Glastonbury but it would have been weird to have 1975 headlining last year whilst Matt Healy’s problematic behaviour was being called out by Rina on another stage.

Yeah to be fair as someone that hasn’t seen Coldplay I’d be chuffed if they are there!

I think all of my group I'm going with will be at the Pyramid for them and I can see it being very busy. I'll be looking elsewhere myself but a lot of people will be made up to see them.

Didn’t see them in 2016, so it’ll be 13 years since I’ve seen them on the pyramid (or anywhere for that matter!), so likely I’ll be there too. Haven’t liked much if anything they’ve released in the interim mind you, so the set would be a different experience for me, but they have always delivered. Who knows, hearing the more recent stuff live might even change my opinion of it!
