I might be wrong but of all the long term posters on here it seems to me that only you and Neil are still doubting the trio of AM, GNR and Elton John.

to me they seem the most likely names at the mo.

am is an odd one as there's usually more info around for a British act.

lack of info definitely suggests not-British for the 3rd act.

I'm not convinced on GnR but think that is beacuse I'm in denial so won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I'd love it not to be AM as everyone has been so certain it's them for so long, it would just be really funny if they didn't do it.

In terms of top billing

2017: 0/4 women

2019: 1/4 women

Post festival: Eavis makes a statement about the future being 50/50 gender balanced

2020: 2/4 women

2022: 2/4 women

I just don't see said trio happening now that this is the case. Yes, I know it's down to who's available, but it's not like there aren't available acts. Beyonce's touring, Adele's touring, deeper curveballs like Rihanna and Ariana and Gaga. P!nk would have been great if she wasn't busy.

AM / Beyonce / Elton John / Stevie Nicks looks good to me.

No it's just that it's become pointless because right now nothing will dissuade people from it. And when people suggest, theorise or hint that its something else, people like Matt are quite rude to them.

It's pointless me sharing info as I'll just get "can't be, it's AM on Friday 100%"

And that's fine, you guys can believe all that, it's not a problem, but it just makes the bubble all the more isolated as any dissenting voices are basically told to go away. Outside of this thread and forum opinions differ wildly.

Emily also said, earlier this year I think, that some years might have three men headlining, others years three women. You can still book a balanced lineup without a woman headlining, if anything it’s more important to make sure you’re consistently doing that and giving smaller acts opportunities.

The belief that AM and GNR are doing it is based on info we have received. If someone we think we can trust claims to have reliable info coming from the festival or band management etc that it is someone else we will take that into consideration.

But as far as I know, there has been no other credible suggestions, only people saying who they wish it was

So this is a point I’ve been running over in my head and not sure how to say it…. But Is it only Men and Women for the top spots?  When we’re counting this gender split what do people like Sam Smith count as? Genuine question

I've seen people quote this but can never find it, either way it's correct, Primavera was the same this year. 50/50 across the bill with 2/3 Male heads.

But, I imagine her point (if anyone can find it that would be great) is more that sometimes, there simply won't be acts available to make it happen. I think if she had the direct choice between AM / GNR / Elton and, say, AM / Beyonce / Elton she'd take the latter, personally.

As a they I guess you either just don't count them or count them towards both, same difference

This just doesn't feel right. I can't really explain it but I just know it's wrong.

Me too.  Can't shake the feeling it's not AM, GNR and Elton John, based on absolutely nothing but gut instinct.

Nope - me too.

Me too.  and if this did happen Mrs 4AM would spontaneously combust with excitement.

But they’re neither…. Do we need another column?

Thats where this whole gender split thing makes me laugh, for the amount of ways people identify (and that’s great, be what you want to be) we’d need a mathematical genius to work the % out.

It was in an interview with Edith Bowman I think. I did listen to it and it was mentioned in a thread on here too but struggling to find it as well.

I agree with you that they’d probably book Beyonce over GNR but while she’s supposedly touring, there’s just nothing to suggest that she’s likely to want to play or be booked for next year. I think that’s the main reason some of us are so set on the currently rumoured trio, there just hasn’t been any credible rumours for anyone else yet, certainly not compared to a reliable poster who usually has good information.

Is there generally less rumour/information flying around this time Neil?  It does kinda feel that way.

But … and I’m not knocking the reliable poster by any means and it looks like very credible info both on what we have so far and the other info given … we know things change and from memory it’s rare we have all headliners locked in at this stage

But not just all men, all white men to boot.

I'm not saying Glasto wouldn't go for that trio, and I'm definitely not saying that it would not be a huge set of bookings. I just find it jarring from all the other interviews Emily has given about diversity, about booking specifically female headliners, and that she's now an ambassador of keychange.

It just doesn't sit right to me. But we'll see eh!
