Even the covers and doubtless 15 minute noodly solo. But 6 covers, and a few snippets of other people's songs, which tells me what I've always thought, they haven't got a huge amount of great songs themselves. Plus it's a long haul for me as Paradise City is my favourite. Still, I expect to be there.

You want to appease the ego of somebody like swift? You have to think a little outside the box. 3 weekends, 3 different sets and the last one is at a country festival where the first 3 records can be showcased. And maybe 12 million reasons to go with it. How come coachella struggles so much to book their headliners? Two years in a row now

To be fair, I think I'd rather they trim it to a 2 - 2.5 hr tight set than fuck about, but at least with some covers in the mix it'll be more fun than them dragging out old albums tracks to fill the void. Even Springsteen with his vast back catalogue often throws in a cover during his 3 hour shows. I do genuinely reckon I'll really enjoy the show even though I'm not a huge fan. I did have great fun when Slash played the Pyramid years ago. Gnomicide
The setlist playlist I'm listening to on Spotify runs to 2 hours 53 minutes but includes a variety of covers, including some not played at every show. Add noodling, between songs faffing and encore break and you can see why they're shows are currently 3 hours long. Trim some of that out and I think it could be an excellent couple of hours. Sadly I think they'll ditch more songs than solos. The worst I saw for solos was Van Halen at Donington 84. Guitar, drums and bass solos plus Dave doing what appeared to be a samurai sword solo. PLAY THE FUCKING SONGS! 😄

Prodigy finished and me and my mates had little interest in seeing GnR so we went to watch The Streets in a tent. Came back out after they had finished and we could see GnR walking out onto the stage in the distance, we figured we'd go and check out what we assumed was their encore... turns out they were only just coming on! Funny! We'd lost our at mate (who was INCREDIBLY drunk) who'd been watching Prodigy. He was so drunk he just kept stepping back and forth saying "I'M DANGEROUS" and there was a big circle of people around him keeping their distance... When Prodigy finished he said "Right, I'm off to sort that C*** Axl out" and he ran into the crowd. We looked for ages for him, in the end me and my mate gave up and walked back to our tent which was the furthest point of the festival next to the A1. And, our mate was asleep in his tent! We woke him up, then G'N'R came on stage (we could see it in the distance) and our mate proceeded to prowl around our tents translating 'Sweet Child O' Mine' into Welsh. 1

I caught most of an Yngwie Malmsteen set MOR in (I think?) 88. It was more solo than songs.

But... They're about £100 to see elsewhere, and they're at least worth a listen before hundreds of other stuff starts to get confirmed. That they're actually good, despite the negativity is a bonus. Same logic and I'll give some of Elton's (far vaster) catalogue a listen to. Never been bothered with him either, but can guess from the general hype here that the rest of the site will be deliciously empty while he's playing, so a lot to be said for giving it a miss if I'm still not fussed. Though reckon I'll be dragged to Elton, unlikely for GNR. I can't face 3 pyramid headliners, I'll give AM a swerve until I've more of an idea how likely my attendance at the other two will be. jonday81
I know headliners are important however I think at Glastonbury slightly less so as there are so many alternatives to the main pyramid headliner. Last time I went in 2016 I actively hated every pyramid headliner but it was still one of my all time favourite festival weekends due to the sheer variety of options (and in so many different genres) available past the Pyramid headliners. In my opinion still well worth the ticket price I feel!
