Interesting point you make about darkness. Saw them at the Olympic Stadium (2017?) where they started around 6.45pm or so - I actually missed the first few songs. Great gig but an absence of light (it was a glorious day too) would have made the setting better

FloorFiller
The biggest crime of Guns N Roses’ live set is having one of the best ass kicker album/set opener songs of all time at their disposal and them deciding to play it fifth. Why the official YouTube channel decided to post it is beyond me, but it’s not the best example of where his voice is at these days, although that obviously won’t stop it being posted every week from now until the festival. Great to hear - I mean the band around him are solid, they have some amazing songs in their set (yes, some are covers, but they've made some of them their own) - and if his voice is better that's a bonus. Might be able to stroll into the pit if that video keeps getting shared though. If there are lots of tickets handed back based on people not liking this then that's great for Elton & GnR fanatics that'll actually want to see them at Glastonbury. Aye. More recent stuff, while still not great, is better.
giantkatestacks
His voice is shot but I don't mind as we will all be singing. What worried me more was the disconnect between lead guitar and drums. Sounded off at times as if Slash wasnt quite keeping time properly. Nicklord
80% of his voice is completely shot. He can still sing low and he can still scream very well so Welcome to the Jungle scream is still going to be there

When I saw them in 91 they opened with Perfect Crime and that worked well, then into Mr Brownstone, crowd swell like nothing I'd experienced before - feckin terrifying

Zoo Music Girl
I've given Appetite for Destruction and November Rain a run out today and can confirm I'm all over this (clashes depending).
CaledonianGonzo
Same. It's not going to be a classic, but then that's true of loads of headline sets and it doesn't mean it can't be a lot of fun.
