Apparently the possibility of GnR headlining was discussed on 5 Live this morning and to gain some insight, they interviewed a GnR tribute act. Did anyone hear it?

What happened about the acts being about the music instead of gender etc etc etc 

The last headliner will HAVE to be a woman or women if not they will say oooooo not diverse enough... 

On that note.. Let's hope for Madonna or the spice girls..

Im not one to judge but it was absolutely awful.

Tl;dr: A long winded thing. Home off of a late shift and bottle of wine waffle alert. I didn't mean it to get that long. Synapses just fired. And I'm Bored (d'ya see what I did there?)

Always used to joke about people choosing The Football over Slash that time. (Thirteen years ago now. Just wow).

My reasoning being, "Have I seen England play Germany before? Am I likely to see England play Germany again? Yes and yes. Have I seen Slash play on the farm (or anywhere) before?  Am I likely to see Slash play again on the farm (or anywhere, ever) again? No and no. Well that's a total no brainer then".

I was correct on the first front (biggest England defeat in their World Cup history and they've obviously played again).

I was wrong about the second. On both fronts. Slash has played in the UK more times than England have played Germany since, and I got (dragged my arse) to see GnR at the wonderfully named Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last year the weekend after Glasto (first day I'd tested negative for Covid since and was so knackered I fell asleep on the pitch (but I wouldn't have been the first one to do that there. Eh? Eh? (I'll get me coat)).

I was also wrong to take the piss out of people who chose The Football over Slash. One of my greatest Pyramid field memories is England v Portugal at The Pyramid on the Thursday of '04 (there was nothing else on though surely). Imagine if we'd won! Totally get people wanting to try to recreate that sort of buzz.

Sorry. I was wrong. My logic seemed sound to me at the time.

Anyway. Having seen the current incarnation of GnR and having been at Slash thirteen years ago, and hearing the state of Axl's voice recently. I think I'd much rather see a Slash and Miles Kennedy set at The Acoustic Which would need a bigger tent.

Or a Slash guest slot at anyone. Surely a possible thing right?

I cant wait for Guns N Roses and fully understand axel will not sound the same as he did 35 years ago . Ive been watching alot of concert footage and he sounds fine apart from that other clip where he wasnt well and they should have probably cancelled that gig. Billie Eilish and Kendrick wasnt for me last year so I watched something else and I had great time at Paul Heaton & Jacqui abbot and PSB instead.

sounded good to me and will sound brilliant on the Pyramid with drums, guitars, strings, backing singers
