Slither is absolutely great. Will be gutted if that gets chopped but also get why. I reckon keeping the cover versions in makes a lot of sense though.

Live and Let Die and Knocking yes - cos they were big UK hits.  Things off The Spaghetti Incident or Wichitah Lineman less so.

Exception to the latter is doing Whole Lotta Rosie and bringing on Angus Young.

I also identify as that fucker.  Probably one of the best riffs Slash has ever written.

Saw Velvet Revolver before. Finished with that. Fairly sure Slash and Weiland were a bit out of it at the gig. Real 80s throwback behaviour. Good gig though.

Hmmm one of the worst Arctic Monkeys takes I've ever heard.

Lets imagine a new band, and their first three albums were The Car, Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino and AM - is that band anywhere near headlining?  Yes they have been producing newer stuff, as have GnR (well, maybe not so much) & Elton, but they're all relying on past glories.

My guess is that at least half the hype that The Car managed to muster was due to people in the know knowing they'd already been booked to headline.

More likely it was all of their fans hoping that they’d completely done away with the Tranquility Base sound and were back to making indie anthems made for festival headline sets.

  1. Sculptures of Anything Goes
  2. Brianstorm
  3. Snap Out of It
  4. Crying Lightning
  5. Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair
  6. Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?

  9. From the Ritz to the Rubble
  10. Cornerstone
  11. I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am
  12. Do I Wanna Know?
  13. Teddy Picker
  14. Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino
  15. Knee Socks

  22. R U Mine?

Their most recent setlist, showing a great selection from all the albums - regardless of people's views on their most recent work they are still a super relevant band across the globe. The consistently headline festivals the world over, and sell-out huge venues.

They're absolutely more relevant to a certain age group / demographic I get that, but hard to see why the don't deserve to headline. Haven't they also headlined in 2007/2013?

I'm one of probably not a huge percentage of the fanbase that actually loved The Car sound. I respect how they've tried to change their sound consistently over the years.

Agree with this, but opening with Sculptures is criminal. Drop that, add A Certain Romance and we’re golden.

They did their full set at Coachella.

Few killer covers though maybe we'll get more of this.

Also half decent chance of Angus showing up to test the waters for 24 a la Edge with Muse.

Dead Flowers. Ron will do it Jaggers not up for it #raggedcompany

I’m torn on Wichita Lineman. I love the song but not sure whether their version is the right vibe for the occasion.

Anything AC/DC would be mahoosive, obv, but not getting my hopes up.

If I’m honest I think their version stinks the place out. Completely wrong voice for it and trying to give it more rock edge just doesn’t suit the song IMO.

Not a huge fan but that’s a really good setlist. There’s a chance I’m going to see them and if that’s the Setlist I’ll be happy.

Setlist is great tbh, but it’s their current tendency to make even their most upbeat songs in to a bit of a dirge that’s the real problem. Currently they’re probably my Friday headliner outside of the Park pulling out something great, but god do I hope they deliver and not making me wish I’d gone to see one of the safe but reliable bets of Hot Chip or Kelis.
