Would be possible to have people enter registrations when they join the queue?

 

If you get through, that's it, those registrations are allocated tickets and you get an email with a payment link

Anyone then rejoining is back of the queue

There's a persistence element to the current system. I like that because others don't know about it, but it's not exactly fair. And I want it to stay as it is for purely selfish reasons

I am happy with the existing system.  I was unlucky today but wouldn't change it at all.  There is no perfect system but this is good enough for me.

I do honestly prefer a bloodbath like today and would take it over a Ticketmaster style queuing system every day of the week. Felt like sheer determination and perseverance paid off today. I know there might be some who got cockteased massively with a page crashing (happened to me Thursday), but a 90 min bunfight seems to be the fairest way. Am sure the length of sale probably put off quite a few mid sale. 

Same discussion every year is had, but this year's sale was significantly longer than previous years. 

I managed to bag our tickets, for the first time in 15 years of trying by the way. I kept going when others in our group had given up, so I feel happy my perseverance paid off. This system is 100% better than a ballot.

However, and it's a BIG however, something has to be done to ensure that if you get through, you have a fair amount of time to secure tickets.

6 of 16 of our group got through, payment approved in app etc, but only 1 payment went through.

That's not right.

i agree.  
the only thing I would change is for See to get a more powerful server or something.  They are well aware of how many people will be trying every year, and yet it still crashes every year.
