National Express luggage

Looks like I will be getting National Express as it will make me smile......

Anyone got experience of how much luggage you can generally take? The standard for all their coaches doesn't look to be generous enough but wondered if it was more lenient on the Glastonbury service?

I am travelling alone and usually drive (did See coaches when younger) so will be strange not taking 'unlimited stuff'.

For the regular scheduled services - they're nowhere near as strict as the website implies. I went on a regular service to Bristol (changing at Birmingham) with a large rucksack and a pop up tent. I did pay for an "extra bag" just in case, but I don't think the driver or the dispatcher on either coach even looked that closely. I suspect that I probably could have got away without paying for the extra bag, though admittedly that could vary depending on who's calling the shots.

For the Festival services - don't worry about it as long as you're not taking the piss. They know people are taking their shit and factor that in. If they need to start getting strict, the first stuff left behind will be excess alcohol - trollies full of booze etc.

I'll be doing the exact same again this year.

What is 'excessive', could j get away with a large Coleman cooler as well as tent and bag?

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule, as it'll depend based on what other people bring.

Basically - for the Festival services, they will try to fit everything on. If they genuinely can't, and have to start making "cuts", then it'll be the worst offenders hit first. So just don't be amongst the worst.

Taken NE once before & it's pretty much the same as all glasto coaches. 1 Big backpack, 1 tent & maybe an extra Lidl style big carrier bag if you can manage to carry that extra.

There's always one fucker with a trolley. They usually get it on the coach, but if everyone did that we'd be fucked. A bit selfish if you ask me when taking the coach. Plus I feel like so many trolleys still end up breaking at the festival. Are they even worth it.

I got national express in 2016, and a couple of lads had a massive trolley of beers. The driver was about to leave it behind, but it ended up being put in the aisle (so everyone in the back half of the coach had to climb over it to get to the loo or the door). Not ideal with the weather/traffic problems that year, we were on that coach for a looong time.
