nikkic
So next year we've got babysitting cover for an extra day, so are planning to stay in a hotel somewhere localish to the festival on the Monday. Ideally somewhere with good food (either at the hotel or local), picturesque/good views and some kind or pool/spa options. Anybody got any recommendations? Zacko
I always think this would be a great idea, and then I end up spending Monday-Thursday desperately trying to survive 😂

Doesn’t matter that much, but I suppose within 45 mins from the festival. We have a car so transport not an issue.

gooner1990
Depending on which direction you're going the Travelodge at Podimore services isn't too far (20 min drive) , we've used it on the Tuesday night before the festival before and has a nice pub just a few mins walk away. https://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/104/Yeovil-Podimore-hotel https://www.podymore-inn.co.uk/ Edited November 24, 2022 by gooner1990
Funkyfairy!
One of the pubs in Glastonbury (The George?) good food, a good wander and the perfect middle ground back to 'normality' 🙂
clarkete
What direction are you headed afterwards? Presumably you don't want to go 45 minutes away from home
assorted
We enjoyed staying in Bath post-festival and will likely do it again this year. Pretty area, good food, nice hotels, lots of spas - so kinda perfect place to feel good after roughing it.
sauceageroll
Gonna lock myself in a very dark room for at least a week and ride out the shakes.

Maybe in Wells, as it's near the festival, or nearer to the m4 you could go for Bath or Bristol? (which would have a wide variety of places to stay with different budgets and facilities)
parsonjack
If you really want to treat yourselves then The Newt near Castle Cary has everything you want and more..... https://thenewtinsomerset.com/hotel
parsonjack
Slightly less extravagant but still very lovely try Homewood Park between Frome/Bath.... https://www.homewoodbath.co.uk
parsonjack
Alternatively have a look at the properties run by Stay Original (their HQ is in Pilton...). Lovely pub/hotels in Wedmore (The Swan), Somerton (White Hart), Bradford on Avon (Timbrells Yard), Dorchester (Kings Arms), Shaftesbury (Grosvenor Arms) and newly in Bruton just 10 minutes from the festival (At The Chapel). No spa's or pools but lovely properties in characterful buildings with great food and eclectic design. Great staff too. We stayed at the Kings Arms in Dorchester when it opened a couple of years ago....loved it so much we went back and stayed the following weekend too 👍 https://stayoriginal.co/ Edited November 25, 2022 by parsonjack
