But that one came up just after. Those two videos had me absolutely captivated. As you say, great storytelling. It was Violet's Tale that really got my wife. Just a fantastic trilogy of songs. Can't wait to see him liveย

Fucking hell, to say he's had it rough is an understatement... does make his lyrics/videos hit a little harder though knowing his history.ย Link to his gofundme page below which explains his sporadic releasing of material... word of warning this does contain a link to a Daily Fail article. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-ren-get-medical-treatment-for-lyme-disease

I cannot stop watching him perform, I've watched loads of his videos now, and genuinely think he has something very very special.ย I can't believe he has so few subs, Hi Ren is quite possibly one of the greatest, most profound, works of art of my lifetime. Sure there are songs I 'enjoy' more, but I can't think of one single time in my life where I've felt that I've witnessed somebody pour their soul into their art on that kind of level. It's so raw and real. If that makes any sense at all? (And yes, I'm sober.)ย Just saw it for the first time, and sat in silence for a bit when it finished. Incredible stuff, including his spoken word at the end.

Sadly he just announced that he has to remain in Canada for his treatment for 'at least' another 6 months. ๐ย He seems absoloutely gutted to learn that just as his music is blowing up. But obviously his health comes first, and seems to be at peace with that fact.ย

Yeh I can't even pretend to understand what he has been, and is, going through, but he's clearly a rare talent. It seems to me, an average idiot, that this treatment he's recieving is going to mean he has an easier, happier, pain free life, and that the world gets to experience more of his talent in the long run. Best of luck to him, I really hope everything goes to plan.ย As far as Glasto goes, if he can't make it this year, the farm will be there waiting for him next time, I'm sure...ย Edited January 28, 2023 by Alvoram

Tinofsild
A few I think would make sense and Iโd love to see: Ceephax acid crew - love his stuff but heโs taken it up a couple of levels recently imo. Saw him live in โ22 and it was both incredible and great fun. Red Snapper - also saw them live last year and they were fantastic. The sort of band who if you stumbled on them without being aware of them you might fall in love with them. Perfect for the farm. Pop will eat itself - allegedly sold more t shirts than albums back in the day. A selfish one as Iโd be interested to see them. Imagine them coming on for โTheir Lawโ if The Prodigy playโฆ (The Prodigy are probably number 1 on my list to be honest but I had these 5 to mention too) Leftfield - good recent album, dance music legends and touring this year again. Would be a good Park headliner wouldnโt they? Orbital - ridiculous to think that a band so closely associated and credited with breaking dance music on big stages at the festival hasnโt done a live set there for 13 years now. Bring them back but donโt stuff them in the dance tent alongside mostly DJsโฆ I make no apologies for the โ90s flavour of my selections..! :)

MrZigster
I haven't replaced Jeff Beck on my list. Currently listening to the first Splodnessabounds album. They're still touring. There's no chance. Is there?
MrZigster
OK. I appeared to have killed the thread with my last post. Obviously a ridiculous replacement for Jeff Beck. Can we have Tommy Emmanuel back again then?ย
