Missed the download bit, but not the dinosaur bit

But the epithet doesn't hold true for them - they both have had recent releases and continued chart success, as well as promoting and supporting younger artists.

By contrast, other than a re-release these are thirty years or more

As someone who was a big rock/metal fan in the 80’s/90’s, I can honestly say that KISS were always overrated, by the numbers cliched nonsense.  Complete joke of a band.  And I paid to see WASP. Twice.

Cant imagine them playing Glastonbury, let alone in any big or headline slot.

I don't think for a second they'd headline but could do the rock slot (RIP).

and i'd like it and enjoy it, but feel it would be a bit lost without the fire, the explosions and the nonsense. They should headline the JP or the Park, or ideally the Truth stage at 1.30am, a Creatures of the night set!

Aren't they notoriously all about the money? Which is why they only play their own shows and selcted mega paying festivals (ie Download)?

Would love them to pop up somewhere in a non-headlining role but just can't see it.

From what I've heard they are "all about the money", but maybe not in quite the same way that we'd mean on here when we talk about why other acts (Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Strokes, etc) aren't likely.

What I mean by that is - yes, they (or more specifically Gene) carefully cultivate their image and monetise/merchandise it to ridiculous levels, perhaps more than any other band. But they do still seem to be willing to take smaller or lower paying gigs, if either it furthers the above or they simply want to do it.

Glastonbury could theoretically fit into both categories, though my gut feeling is they're playing some semi-specialist festival in Europe on that weekend.

I think it's coincidence rather than anything.

It's an arena tour, would seems strange to play Glastonbury but no other festival.

Also there are several 4-5 day gaps in their schedule.

To be filled by several to-be-announced festivals?  If they're trying to sell other shows then it fits with them holding back any festival announcements, that there are several 4-5 day gaps seems irrelevant at this stage.  Sure, these might be more likely to be mainland europe or more specialist festivals, but it's definitely a perfectly defined GSH.

Seems a waste of a headliner, now that the idea has settled in a bit, and can only assume that they'd not accept a pay cut for anything less than headliner.
