Do you remember the piano?

There was definitely one in The Park at least once, but I can't be more precise or even guess which year(s). Got a feeling there's been one of those somewhere in the Green Fields as well but again can't remember any details.

Sorry, that's not much use.

I feel like there was one in 2019, probably greenfields and just below the stone circle's field.  Wasn't there last year but 3 years might be a long time for a piano to be lying idle - hopefully it gets stored well...

This roughly describes the location of the hidden Irish piano bar, but I don't think that's what Mich means.

That's field to the left of the stone circle field - did it used to be dragon field, or am I just confusing that with the dragon?

For the piano I was more thinking the craft or healing field...

<edit> that's left as you're looking up the hill, just looked at a map and it's the other way round 😛

It's the very top of the Dragon Field, fenced off from the rest of the Dragon field which is Green fields crew camping (used to be punters camping).

Sure.  Just look out for a queue.  But this won't be where the piano being asked about here will be - far too steep a hill for that.

The one in the Park was definitely there in 2015 as a remember resting my drink on whilst watching SFA.

A niche subject I know. Does anyone remember the piano that anyone could play? And where is was. Has it gone forever?

I last remember it in 2017 in the field below the stones.

Some guy played Bohemian Rhapsody and it was a good singalong!

Yes, there was a woman too for at least a couple of years, it was really good fun and she drew a huge crowd. Pretty sure it’s not happened more recently, but there is this photo on the festival website:

My first Glastonbury 'moment' was in 2011 when we came across the piano in Greenfields on our first day. Someone was doing 1980s Karaoke and we ended up staying for an hour, despite missing something on our must-see list and the fact that it was raining steadily.

It changed everything - we learned to relax and go with the flow, avoid the big crowds and just see what we find. I've enjoyed every minute of each festival since and met some wonderful people and discovered acts I would never have found otherwise.

And that is why I love the piano

The official festival piano tuner once told me he is responsible for tuning about 30 pianos over the site, many backstage. We could start an annual piano eye spy game.

I think this would be a very important glastonbury quest! Sod the underground one

One of my highlights was being sat next to the piano in the Greenfields in 2013. Nobody was really playing it when we sat down but then this guy came up and did an amazing hour long set of hip hop classics, gradually drawing a big crowd. It was excellent.
