All done for work now … hopefully forum is a bit more settled now … wishing you all a merry Christmas , special shout out to the strikers and shift workers many  of whom don’t get the opportunity to have a Christmas with family . Much love to all CF

Good shout, no want wants to be on strike, especially those in the health and caring services. It will be the usual Xmas for us, quick visit to grandkids to watch them open pressies, then deliver Xmas lunches to a few elderly clients that Mrs C looks after. Then settle down for the rest of the day and have a few drinks! Getting near the age someone will have to bring us a meal😉.

A very happy and peaceful holiday to all on here.

Shift worker here. Yes, celebrating Christmas now on 23/24 Dec, as heading in for night shifts 25/26 Dec, plus working a double shift on New Year's Day.  Never mind - doing this now guarantees me time off when I really want it, i.e. end of June!  Wishing everyone a good 2023 with lots of music.

Another one working here.

We are making the punters fend for themselves for a couple of hours though, closing the restaurant and bar so we can all sit down together for dinner. Although it rarely works like that, with guests coming over to ask those super important questions like "where can I buy cigs?"

Happy Crimbo everyone. Peace on earth and goodwill to all (except Tories!)

Just completed the first of my Xmas eve traditions - watching 'It's a wonderful life', and having a little cry. Now on to my other traditions - spiced rum, sausage rolls, listening to Sufjan Stevens Xmas EP's & a few other festive tunes (Mark Lanegan & Low will be a hard listen this year). Finally, watching the Father Ted Xmas special & off to bed.

A relaxing Xmas eve was shattered by my son appearing with a pedal car that had to be constructed for my grandson.  He had to go to work. So our living room was magically transformed in to Santa’s workshop but without any elves to help. Whilst cursing as I tried to understand the instructions Mrs. C reminded me that I had done something similar  nearly 35 years ago for my son.  After a few tears it just made us think how time has passed so quickly.  As the late great Terry Hall would sing,’Enjoy yourselves, it’s later than you think’

So happy Xmas and cherish every moment with family and friends.
